"Ah...right," Bella said limply, her face falling slightly. "You have those in your world." She really didn't like her books all that much. Especially not the last one. She almost shivered at the memory of reading it.
Taking her coffee, she sat down at the table opposite Elena. "Alice is back? I didn't even know." She'd have to go and see her. She'd missed her so much, as she always did when she didn't see her, but she knew she didn't visit her as much as she should. She reminded her too much of Edward. She was beginning to see the thinking behind Edward's making his whole family leave when he did back in Forks. She had been in so much pain back then, but she knew now it would have been so much worse if she had to be reminded of him all the time.
"I do miss him..." Bella replied, lifting her coffee to her lips, feeling the warmth but not taking a sip just yet. "Stefan hasn't been here then?" she asked. She knew Petersen had trouble bringing Edward here, but he had managed, once, just for that short time. They had been able to spend Christmas together. Then he was gone again, and Bella had had to face the pain of losing him. She wasn't sure if the short time with him had really been worth the pain... It shocked her that she could think like that about Edward, but the selfish part of her had wanted to blame him even though it wasn't his fault. He had promised he'd never leave her again.
