Bella followed as Elena led the way, listening closely to her description of where they'd all been sent. "I think my... friend, Jake, is there," she said, leaning against one of the counters. However, she was stopped from talking as Elena explained how she came to be back in Ridgeway. "Attacked by a vampire?" she exclaimed. That definitely was not good. If Jake was there, with no other wolves to back him up, a rampant vampire really wasn't good news. She couldn't bear to think of him hurt in some way. Or Alice for that matter. Or any of the friends she'd made while she'd been here; like George or Guy or Quinn.
"I guess it was a different type of vampire to the ones I'm used to..." she said after a moment, eyeing Elena's scarf. If one of her vampires had bitten someone, that person would be craving blood shortly afterwards, after having suffered intense pain and danger, and that was if the vampire in question was actually pysically able to stop themselves draining you dry. Subconsciously Bella rubbed a finger over the icy scar on her fore arm.
"I'm worried about Jake too," she said. "He's my... friend." It was true, Jake was her friend, but he was so much more than that too. She loved Edward, but now this new Jake had arrived and didn't love Leah any more, it was like her eyes had really been opened to him for the first time. It had hurt so much to see him with someone else, but now all he wanted was her. How was she supposed to react to that, especially when Petersen had let her know he had no hopes of bringing Edward back any time soon. He hadn't been able to hold him here last time anyway, so even if he could get him back, Bella probably wouldn't have long with him before she had to face the pain of him leaving all over again.
"Your boyfriend isn't around?" Bella asked. "Neither is mine..."
