Cas stretched out on the empty bed. He arched his back, pushing his ribs towards the ceiling. He had what he needed. Good food, chemical balance and two people in his life who really made him feel... like something. He curled his toes, not bothering with shoes, his shirt lay open, draped across the bed under his arms, spread-eagled. It was his last day on full doses and he breathed it in slowly.
Shopping had brought back memories. Scavenging though an empty city, taking what they needed till none of it had much value at all. Some of the people had liked the novelty but it always wore off. A pair of jeans wasn't that special when you could help yourself to fifty more. Useful, yes, but no one made a deal about clothes in his time and the slick advertising and carefully constructed displays of the department stores only brought that home.
Lucky the sight of Dean in his new clothes was enough to drive his more troubling thoughts to the back. Cas has even managed to find a woollen hat and a pair of gloves, both of which now rested on the chair in the corner. All he needed to do now was wait for his... he really needed to come up with a word.
