Anna was too upset to catch his defensive response. Normally Crowley would have played along for his own selfish means. He was very rarely an ass to her, and she always just assumed it was because he had devious plans for her. She just didn't have it in her to catch that he wasn't being his normal self, it was vague, but it was just enough that she might have caught it had she been on her game. Of course it wouldn't be an issue if she was on her game.
She was broken. Completely.
Pushing up again, Anna popped the first button of his shirt. "Whatever you want." Her voice was soft, without luster. Her eyes were heavy and she never met his eyes. She just kept pulling open the buttons on his shirt. "Just pretend for me tonight. Treat me like I matter. Act like... I need to feel wanted. Make me feel important and you can have whatever you want, Crowley. Make me forget tonight."
