Status: Closed except to cabin members Billy's Bucket List had always been pretty geeky. Become a member of The Avengers. Be the first awesome gay, Jewish super hero. Have his own comic book. But ever since arriving in Ridgeway, that whole list seemed a heck of a lot closer to coming true. Especially the last one.
Weekly, since their second or so week at the resort, Billy and Teddy had taken trips to the Library to pick up the latest "Marvel" comics. Apparently, if that was where they were from, they might as well read on about what was happening without them. It only took them another week to realize that they were in fact, comic book characters themselves. And that was around the time Billy decided to start catching up. One graphic novel after another he had read up on Avengers history both known and unknown. Then he had finally moved onto their own. Young Avengers. He had to say, he was a fan of Cheung's art... though he supposed that might be because he had literally invented the way Teddy and he, and the rest of the Young Avengers looked. It was so strange to think that it was all created by some outside force... not by himself. It left him feeling... powerless, frankly. For the first time in a long time. And angry. He'd been unable to read about some of the details within the Civil War volume. He just couldn't handle them.
But now, for the first time, he and Teddy sat, riveted already by simply the cover of their future. Children's Crusade, they'd titled it. It had a catchy ring to it, he supposed. And the story... looking for his mother... it was certainly something that struck home for him. Still...
