The smile that appeared on Scott's face was far different from the previous one. It had a slightly wistful look to it. His glasses masked most of the expression, but it was still noticeably different. "I'd say that's the best lesson I learned from him. Never settle for less than you can do."
The subject change was welcome. He'd rather think about their father somewhere more private. "We're doing good. We have our ups and downs, like any couple. Despite all we've been through, we still manage to make time for each other, here and there."
His biggest regret at the moment was that the week leading up to his arrival at Ridgeway had been too busy to really spend time with the woman he loved.
