For how much Sora just wanted Riku to go away, he didn't. Somehow, Sora should have known. Should have known he would fall back to trying to comfort him in any way he could, even if Sora wouldn't let him touch him.
It seemed like just a nicely placed song, that happened to fit the situation well. It made things go through Sora's head though. How could Riku, whom he had only known just shy of three months, say that he'd always be there? How could he? When so many things were so uncertain now, in Sora's life, and in the world as a whole. Not even his parents, who were supposed to be there, were permanent. How long until Riku left his life, too?
Sora rolled over, and his eyes stung at the sight of Riku's tears. How long would he have Riku? Did he really have time to make the same mistake he did with his parents? To not cherish every moment? He felt his own tears drip across his nose and onto his pillowcase. He was scared, and he didn't want to be close to Riku, but Riku was upset now, and that hurt his heart badly.
Almost timidly, Sora used his fingertips to brush away Riku's tears, though he didn't move any closer. He managed to shake his head a little, as his voice couldn't be found to say anything.
