Pumpkins Scream in the Dead of Night
It was a new thing... being in a relationship (and this one had been official for just over a week). It was different than being friends. Being friends had most of the same elements... hanging out, sharing meals, napping on each other, even kissing... but it was different now.
Meeting for lunch was still nice, but a different kind of nice. Having Sora randomly show up at work to give Riku a break from 'broken' bikes was fun still, but another kind of fun. Stolen kisses were still sweet, but a different level of sweet. And not so stolen.
Lunch just... tasted better, and conversation came easier, with Sora. Work seemed easier and more enjoyable, and when Sora happened down upon a surprise visit, Riku's face would light up. There didn't need to be the excuse of a nap for Sora to turn Riku into his furtiture, however he decided to lay on him. And goodnight kisses were manditory. Sleep just was an elusive thing, without goodnight kisses. Even if one of them was busy all day with school, or work, or tests, or papers or projects, or labs; a few minutes to meet up in the hall or one of their rooms just to talk for a few minutes and see how the other's day had gone, ending with a goodnight kiss... it was a must.
Riku liked having a boyfriend, he decided. Provided that boyfriend was Sora.
He hadn't seen much of Sora outside of class that day, but they'd made arrangements to meet up before the party and then to ditch it together when they got bored.
It had taken Riku awhile to figure out what he was going to wear, but he'd managed to get ahold of a really nice revolutionary war costume. With his pale hair all pulled back, he was saying that he was George Washinton, minus the wooden teeth.
