There was no scenario in this world where hearing that sentence didn’t send a chill down Catherine’s spine. “Bellatrix,” escaped her as she took a weary step back. Now, Catherine had a Gryffindor’s courage and would face almost anything that was thrown at her, but this wasn’t just anything. This was Bellatrix Lestrange and while she was confident enough in her ability to duel, she’d never been interested in learning more in depth training. She should have, she knew Edgar offered often enough but...she was a healer, she had no interest in duels or being violent for no apparent reason.
Perhaps she should have?
“Failed miserably?” Cate asked as she laughed. “He may not have sent you into Azkaban but it’s been days and your carnage was forced to a stop. I’d call that quite an effect he had on you.” She needed to get a message to her husband now more than ever. If Bellatrix was here, if they were all here, someone strong enough to take Death Eaters on needed to come and he would have a whole department with him this time.
Think, think. The owlery in Hogsmeade wasn’t far from here….then she thought of it. Patronus messages. Cate thought about the day Edgar proposed. That feeling and how excited she’d been. Conjuring that in her mind she lifted her wand and as she waved it, from the tip burst a Lioness. “Edgar, Death Eaters in Hogsmeade. Hurry,” she spoke to the creature before sending it off. Now….she would have to wait and hope he got there in time. Knowing that words were pointless at this moment, Cate lifted her wand to the ready and threw a Hex Bellatrix's way before throwing up a shield charm. “You’re not going to get away from him this time, Bellatrix.”
