WHO:Daphne Greengrass and Neville Longbottom Daisy Beaumont and Trevor Lang WHAT: An awkward meeting between friends? Enemies? Frienemies? WHEN: Monday Evening, 12 October 1980 WHERE: Chelsea Physic Gardens RATING: Low
Going back in time was a hair-brained scheme under the best of circumstances. Going back in time to save the boy she had a hopeless crush on from himself screamed of desperation. If this were anyone else, Daphne would have scoffed and pointed out the idiocy of it all. She could still do that, of course, but she was very bad at taking advice. Even her own advice.
Daphne had spent most of the day at her new job, learning the ins and outs of the Herbology shop. Her new employer was a kind-hearted grandmotherly sort, though neither of Daphne's grandmothers resembled her in the slightest, who had taken Daphne's... Daisy's story of trying to get out from under her father's controlling nature and starting over in Diagon Alley. Which wasn't wrong, exactly, by the omission of several key facts. From there, she'd gone to Diagon Flats to see about renting a studio, thereby checking two items off her list. Pansy's ideas for separate locations wasn't a bad one. Daphne was under no illusion that this trip to the past would be a short one. And having a place to bring people, should a situation require it, was a good idea. Daisy Beaumont would have a cramped little studio flat in Diagon, filled with plants and painting supplies. A far cry from the place Daphne Greengrass slept at night.
Unwilling to go back to the manor the IS was currently "borrowing" for their mission, Daphne instead apparated to the Chelsea Physic Garden, bypassing the muggle entrance for the hidden wizarding one along the Swan Walk. The oldest botanical garden in the city, Daphne enjoyed enjoying seeing both sides. Plus, she was curious to see how much would have changed from the garden in 1980 versus the one she knew so well, just eighteen years in the future. She kept up her glamour, however. Blonde hair, softer features, blue eyes. Even if she thought she would be alone without anyone there to recognize her, she couldn't get into the habit of being sloppy.
