It wasn't Benjy's fault and Alastair certainly didn't think he was useless. He just needed something that wasn't food. What that actually was, he didn't know. He hadn't known for some time. He would try little things to feel like himself again, but he was never able to and it was maddening. He just wanted to curl up against Benjy and never move again, honestly.
"I'm fine," he responded shortly, his voice clipped with irritation. He wasn't irritated at Benjy, though. It was nothing in particular and everything all at once. He wanted to just melt into his boyfriend and just stay there.
