Jacen was grateful when she nudged him in the right direction and he offered her a small smile as he went, the bag coming to a rest on the table as he began to rifle through her cabinets. He figured that she wanted him gone, if she didn't have anything further left to say to him then she would have just slammed the door in his face and not given him the time of day. The fact that he not only made it into her flat but that he was in the kitchen and looking for plates and silverware that the could eat off was a good sign. At least he was going to tell himself it was a good sign. He would lie to himself as much as he needed to until he could no longer do such a thing but hoped that he wasn't going to need to do such a thing. Ella was stubborn - it was one the many traits she possessed that drew him in - but she was also reasonable and practical, things that Jacen most certainly was not, and he hoped that that side of her would win out now rather than the stubborn side.
"Je veux dire, ai-je vraiment besoin de lister toutes les raisons pour lesquelles? Vous avez sûrement fait votre propre liste maintenant." He offered her another crooked grin as he pulled a couple of plates down out of her cabinet and set them on the table before rifling through her drawers and finding silverware for the both of them. Was he stalling? Of course he was but he didn't exactly know how to start this conversation with her. It perhaps would have gone better had they had it straight away but Jacen had needed time. He had needed time to pull his thoughts together, to figure out what he wanted and what he was going to do and more importantly he needed time to figure out how to protect her and their child because once this got out the world was going to become a much darker and dangerous place for Ella. Jacen hated that that was going to be the case and he hated even more that he was the one who would put her into that situation but what was done was done. All he could do now was move forward and do the best he could to protect her any way that he possibly could.
"Je ne t'ai pas abandonné." he began as he pulled the containers out of the bag and set them on the table, opening them so she could pick whichever one she wanted, "J'avais besoin de temps pour réfléchir, pour comprendre les choses et pour essayer de voir quel chemin cela allait suivre. Des choses-" He sighed, a hand running through his hair and scratching at the back of his head as he turned his full attention on her. "Les choses sont devenues beaucoup plus compliquées et dangereuses pour vous que nous ne pourrions jamais l'imaginer et je déteste que je vous mette dans cette position. Je déteste que votre vie soit devenue infiniment plus dangereuse qu'avant et je déteste qu'un groupe entier de personnes veuille vous blesser simplement parce que vous êtes enceinte."
