The exhaustion was real for Brendan. Between keeping a close eye - if you even wanted to call it that given how he was basically hovering over Eros - on Eros and going to work because Merlin forbid the elves understand what is going on outside of the walls of Gringott's and allow for time off in the face of a war on the brink , exhaustion was not the word for what Brendan was feeling. He was existing solely on pepper up potions, coffee and the whiskey that had been hidden in his desk had long since been emptied but he didn't regret it. Not for a single moment did he regret caring like he did about Eros nor did he regret the fact that he just wanted to take care of Eros, especially at a time when taking care of himself was not something that was high on Eros' list of things to do.
That being said, the dust from the weekend had finally settled. Eris was healing and no longer in danger and Brendan felt that Eros needed to be spoiled. Or at least pampered. His birthday had been ruined this year, as had Eris' and had she felt better Brendan would have invited her over to celebrate with them but he was certain that they could arrange something at a later date for all of them but for the time being he was going to make sure that Eros was spoiled and taken care of that most of all he finally relaxed because Merlin knew that Eros had been beyond tense since everything happened. Brendan didn't blame him for that at all. He knew how close Eros was with his sister and Brendan was certain that if he were close to his own siblings like that and something happened to them like had Eris that he would be beside himself as well. He was certain it was much different for Eris and Eros though given that they were twins. Never before had he ever had reason to think about it and now? Now he was doing a great deal of thinking about it.
Gathering up his belongings, he doused the light on his desk and made his way through the labyrinth that was the lower level of Gringott's, rolling his eyes as he was met by a pair of Goblins who insisted on searching his bag. They had discovered the text that he had snuck out with him and ever since his belongings had been searched thoroughly every single day. Brendan thought it was ridiculous but at the same time he felt an odd sense of pride at the fact that he had gotten to them like he had. The only thing he wouldn't let them touch was the package that he had carefully wrapped and brought with him. He hadn't been sure that the text would arrive in time but it had and then it had sat neglected and pushed to the side as an after thought until today. The goblins had made to take it from him but the appearance of his wand and the growl that had come from them had them backing off...slightly. No one was going to touch the book again until Eros did and he didn't care if it cost him his job.
Snatching his bag back from the goblins, he made his way out of the bank and disapperated only to reappear in the hall outside of Eros' flat. Without even knocking he strode right on into the flatting, dropping his bag near the door as he closed it with his foot and headed further into the flat.
