Luckily for the Muggles they knew how to listen. They ran in many directions, emptying the street so that Bones had the place to himself with this Death Eater. There was no one to hide behind for her or for him and he liked the odds better this way. Cate would be livid he got into another fight and didn't choose to walk away now that everyone was safe, but he couldn't live with himself knowing she'd run off and kill more people. Sorry Cate.
Bones felt the stinging hex hit him even as he tried to get out of the way. It hit his non-dominant arm and sent a surge of uncomfortable sensations rippling through him. Damn that really did sting. He lifted his wand but immediately dodged out of the way of her slicing hex, narrowly seeing it miss him. Damn, she wasn't messing around. He couldn't get a read on her voice, but Bellatrix Lestrange wasn't one for subtlety. Couldn't be her.
"I think I do want to fight you," he said from behind the garden wall he'd rolled behind. He stood quickly, returning a stinging hex to her so she could know exactly how it felt. "Because when cheaters don't fight fair I have to intervene."
