Although she wasn't as close to him as Hermione or Ron, Ginny knew Harry and how his mind worked almost as well as she knew herself. At least, she was certain she did. He had a moral code that he held himself to, similar to her own, when it came to what he was and wasn't willing to do in order to achieve his goals. There had to be very firm lines that one was unwilling to cross when it came to matters of this nature. And while it was Harry's job as their leader to decide on the limits, Ginny had absolutely no issues with making sure his wishes were reinforced and followed since sometimes people got it in their heads to try and get away with stupid things when Harry or Hermione weren't paying attention. It just wouldn't do to have people adding more things to worry about to Harry's plate.
This entire situation was unlike anything she had ever done before. They not only had to be careful not to change things too drastically, but also for their own lives. Things had the potential to go horridly pear-shaped, and not just because Malfoy and some of his lot decided to follow them into the past. The death eaters wouldn't hesitate when it came to defending themselves, even if it meant murdering a teenager. They had already proven that they had absolutely no problem raising the death toll if they felt it got their point across.
She could understand why Harry might be feeling as though he was all alone lately. Ginny wanted to reassure Harry that he could depend on her no matter what he might have thought to the contrary. Unlike the job Ginny managed to get, Harry had chosen a more stressful one. It probably wasn't helping him all that much, if she was being honest about it. Still, it got him close to Edgar, and that ended up proving beneficial to their cause. Now it was just a matter of Harry getting Bones to actually trust him, but as far as she was concerned Harry could do anything he set his mind to.
All in all, Ginny wanted to help Harry in whatever way she could. She hadn't made any real headway on getting to know his father, but that by no means meant that she was giving up. Amusingly, Ginny had managed to learn quite a bit of general information while working selling quidditch supplies, and constantly kept an ear out for good rumours or leads.
Smiling as Harry approached, Ginny shook her head. "You didn't keep me waiting long at all. In fact, you gave me ample time to get things set up," she answered as she met his gaze. "I was thinking that we really hadn't had a chance to catch up, just you and me. And, I figured you might be hungry."
