GENERAL LOCATION
Colonized several decades ago by the Atirans - the dome was upgraded and split into three different sectors (now called districts) when BNU took it over. The Spaceport District, The Community District, and The Business District. While technically the agricultural and production area on the northern edge of the dome is a part of The Business District - most inhabitants speak about it as if its its own entity.Commuting around Spaceport can be done in three different ways. By foot or bike. By personal transport in compact vehicles or motorbikes. Or by public transport - the moon itself is not large enough or stable enough to boast a train system, but there are public buses and a trolley system that goes between the districts (think of this as comparable to getting around Disney World - as its exterior to most buildings and nearer to the edge of the dome itself).
The Spaceport District (southeastern quarter of Spaceport) boasts not only the spaceport itself where all shipping, interplanetary transit, and manufacturing business is handled - but it also does have a few small food vendors. Nothing fancy, more like you'd see in the Sprawl. A ramen shop, a pizza place - just things that sprung up out of need and convenience in the little space that was available. Its mostly visited by people who work in the area or are passing through.
The Community District (southwestern quarter of Spaceport) is where all of the housing is. There are several apartment buildings varying from simple to more luxurious - most of the housing currently occupied are the nicer buildings. Between the colonists, resistance, and SadTech - the spaceport isn't quite as bustling as it was before and hey, no reason to not live in the nicer places and take advantage. See 'Housing' for more information on that. The Community District also boasts restaurants, a well travelled coffee and sweets shop, and a bar.
The Business District (northern half of Spaceport) is where most people who don't work in the spaceport work. BNU's prior headquarters are here - though that building itself has gone almost entirely unused due to distrust of actually being able to fully disconnect it from any of BNU's remaining systems. Luckily for everyone - there was more than enough additional space to make due, they were having to basically build a society from the ground up after all. The agricultural part of the district is the northern most area - and it does boast its own stop on the trolley system - and that is where Spaceport produces about 60% of its food through sustainable agricultural means. Chicken and lamb are the most readily available meats - but beef and fish can be gotten, though at an increased price, due to their limited stock.
HOUSING
One Bedrooms (both single and dual occupancy) are single level units. Single occupancy units do not boast a walk-in closet - while dual occupancy units do. Though they do not have as much extra space as the larger living spaces, they do still boast enough green room for an individual or couple to sustainably grow their own herbs in the smaller units and smaller vegetables (think cherry tomatoes, pepper plants, spring onions) in the larger units. Single occupancy apartments are located on the 2nd floor, with dual occupancy units residing on the 3rd.
Two Bedrooms are single level units. These units boast a garden area that runs along an exterior seating area (which faces interiorly for both safety and climate control), though larger plants would not be able to be grown here - it is suitable for a wider variety of vegetables and herbs than the smaller units. The living space itself is more compact, but the tradeoff of for the terrace is well worth it. These units can be found on the 4th floor.
Three bedrooms are dual level units. These units boast significant room for self-sustaining production on their lower terrace (which face interiorly for both safety and climate control). The Upper Floor of each of these units boasts a master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms, as well as additional room which can be used for whatever purposes necessary. The Lower Floor boasts most of the living space, as well as the kitchen. Access to all three bedroom apartments is via the 5th floor - emergency and maintenance access only exists on the 6th.
There are three floors (1st, 7th, 8th) that do not have housing. The first, or ground, floor is largely a socializing area. It is where you'll find the interior gardens, space for small events, and a bar/lounge dedicated to the building. The seventh floor of the building boasts a greenhouse, climate controlled 'community garden', and a few small rooms that can be booked for events. The eight floor houses most maintenance needs - but also a large rooftop terrace.
The layouts of each type of housing can be found here.
