the light catches the eye but shadows have (moretosay) wrote in revoltic,
Oh. Oh. Vala suddenly felt like she was being beaten at her own game all of a sudden, and she had never been more pleased to lose. Not that it would last of course, you don't survive as long as she had with so many odds stacked against you (including your own personality, honestly) without being able to turn a situation around.
Not that there was much of a reason to change the direction of this ship. It was nice to be seen, for something as pure and raw as this - simple. Instead of a dozen labels she didn't want. Refugee. Tyrant. Thief. Scavenger. Daughter. Wife. Just being appreciated for Vala, for being a woman was something that had fewer expectations and shackles. Years of trying to redeem herself and earn a place at the SGC, their respect and trust, and here she was holding this woman's attention without having to alter herself.
(Or was it altering? She still wasn't sure, if she was being honest, but it didn't matter anymore. Apparently. Far from home, far from the ability to redeem herself, but also far from the guilt.)
Her eyes followed the peek of Adeleis's tongue, pulled towards it with a subconcious sway like diamonds glinting in the sun. They weren't children, or impulsive teenagers, instead they were adults with their own weights and burdens. It felt more equal, and more steady. They were aiming for the same thing it seemed, and that was a nice change as well.
"Good." Vala said simply, hands rising again (skipping over anything too scandalous) to trace the tail end of a scar on Adeleis's shoulder that caught the light from the streelight, "As do I." The words could have meant that she too, had those sort of eccentric tastes, or that she liked what she saw. But the way she couldn't resist touching Adeleis again, the intent in her eyes and the way she leaned towards her left little doubt as to her meaning.
Unlike Shepard, Vala went with her body's inclinations without reservation. Relaxing under the other's touch and tilting her head in an open gesture and encourage more. An invitation of soft skin with it's own share of scars and stregnth rippling just under the surface. A pleased hum slipped out from her lips, letting her eyes go half lidded as her mind narrowed down to the warmth between them, a palpable thing she could almost swear she could feel on her skin.
The touch of it on her lips.
The smirk was back, the one she wore before charging into a fight with only a zat gun and a flimsy vest, another daring retort on her lips when Adeleis stole her breath with that little offer. Or was it a challenge? It definitely was. A delicious one, that sparked along her flesh and left a trail of goosebumps in it's wake. She bounced back on her heels and to the balls of her feet with a giddy sort of energy, "Don't leave a lady waiting, Adeleis." Vala stood up to her full height to lean forward boldly, lips ghosting along the Commander's jaw just this side of propriety, "She might find a way to entertain herself."
That was the image she left her with when she pulled back to grab her bags and head towards her own apartment, a bounce in her step and a merry tune she couldn't stop humming still. Excitement and anticipation filling her veins.
