The pelting rain in the dark of the night splashed against the concrete jungle of New York's exterior. The drops that passed through the cracks into the tributaries of streets that criss crossed throughout the city's interior, if they didn't make it to the street sizzled against the heated neon lights that dotted the city. The flashing lights reflected off the intricate lenses of Peter's mask, lighting up the drops of water that slowly moved down the curved glass.
Peter looked over an unfamiliar landscape--it was New York City, his city, but it wasn't his city. Not in the way he left it, or remembered it. It was a different beast, but in that same instance it was so similar. There was a siren off in the distance, the shouting of friends as they left each other for the evening nearer, down an alleyway to his left. He wasn't tapped into the security systems in this particular city, he wasn't attuned to the police network either, so it required him to go a bit old school to monitor for crimes--listen and observe.
The Spider-Man was nestled atop one of the glowing neon signs that overlooked the particular streets below. Pushing to his feet, he sighed and looked around him at the falling rain, and then cracked his neck, "God this place feels right out of a Sci Fi Noir... let's liven it up a bit..."
He tapped a thing on the side of his mask, then messed with the top of his webshooter, finding his music and hit randomize. He shook his head and skipped a song or two, but then nodded his head as the upbeat tones of Warbly Jets' Alive began popping in his head. Kicking off the sign, he flipped backwards, upside down, and then sailed towards the rain-soaked streets below.
Webline shot free to the right, tugging and sending him sailing past a few vehicles, kicking off a box truck, and then bounded into the sky once more, spin-twisting his way through the night, before webbing another wall and sending himself sailing forward, and then off the line and off into the night sky once more. Swinging around a corner, he ran along the wall, jumped free, and swung through an alleyway, up through the roof tops, sailing high above them, flipping past the towers, and again tumbling for the streets. Another web and he kicked off into another arc, but this time as he came up he nearly missed a shuttle flying by, kicking off of the side of it as he let out a shout.
"Holy shi--" He tumbled through a billboard and went rolling across the rooftop, shaking his head as he pushed to his knees and blinked at the guy flying past, flipping him off. Peter's music had automatically paused thinking he'd gone into combat, and he pushed to his feet shaking his head again, "Okay, so... that's new."
