2:38p	Reversathon General Information Post What's this all about then? As the name suggests, this is a reverse ficathon, also known as a Choose Your Author/Artist ficathon. Instead of making your request and being matched up with a writer or artist, here you choose your writer/artist based on an anonymous ad and make a specific request of them based on what they enjoy creating. Hopefully this means you get just the fic or art you were looking for, and maybe even from one of your favourite authors or artists! Participants must be at least 18 years old. Signing up To sign up, comment on the sign-up post with your completed questionnaire by midnight BST (GMT+1) on Monday 7th May 2012. You can find a template to copy and paste and supplementary info to help you fill it out in the sign-up post. You must fill in something relevant for each point, and feel free to give as much info as you feel you need. Only the moderators will see these comments, as all comments to the sign-up post are screened. If we need to ask you any questions about your questionnaire we will email you. If you don’t have an account on any of the sites we are cross-posting to and prefer not to have one, you can email your sign-up form in to reversathon @ refugeeblues.com. The questionnaires will be turned into ads for you as a writer/artist by our team of highly trained house elves, who will also assign you a wizarding name. If you've ever wondered what it felt like to be called Mildred Mugwump or Pubert Shufflebottom, you're about to find out! The Rest of the Rules The participant ads will be posted anonymously on Tuesday 8th May. Participants must choose 3 writers/artists from the list and make one request specific to each of those writers/artists. The mods will assign one of those 3 writers/artists to create your gift. Ads will be removed from the list when 4 requests have been received for that author/artist, so be ready to jump in and claim yours! Assignments will be sent out when all requests have been received, so don’t hang about! If you have not made your requests by midnight BST (GMT+1) on Friday 11th May you will be removed from the fest. Fics submitted should be a minimum of 1000 words. Art submissions should be accompanied by a preview image and should not include an identifiable signature, though you can supply one for the reveal. The deadline for completing your fic / art is Monday 16th July 2012. Your fic or art should be emailed to reversathon @ refugeeblues.com by that date. Reminders will be issued at appropriate intervals, and you will be expected to respond to a check-in mail a week or so before the deadline. If your submitted fic contains basic spelling, grammar or canon errors (such as those a beta should easily pick up) please note it will be returned to you for revision / betaing. You may post your fic elsewhere after the reveal of authors/artists (exact date to be announced later) but not before. Any questions? Ask away! 2:38p	Reversathon Sign-Up Post What is the Reversathon? Please see our handy summary of the fest at the General info post here! Feel free to ask questions there if anything isn’t clear. This post covers the information you need to sign up and receive your assignment, however, so it should be all you need for the moment. How do I sign up? Behind the cut on this post you will find the sign up questionnaire - please fill this in fully and post it as a comment to this post. You can sign up at the post on Livejournal, Insanejournal or Dreamwidth, but please only do one! All comments are screened. Sign-ups are open until midnight GMT on Monday 7th May (When is that?). Before signing up please make sure you have read this post fully. You will need to check back at this community on the dates noted below in order to receive an assignment and be a part of the fest – this sign up form alone is just the first step. What happens then? Once sign-ups end, the info from the questionnaires will be posted as anonymous ads, but instead of everyone being ‘anon’, all participants will be randomly assigned a witch or wizard name that they will be known by for the duration of the fest.* Once these ads are posted, participants must then make a total of three requests, one each to three different people for the fic or art they want to receive. The moderators will make sense of these requests and make assignments. After a couple of months the results will be posted and we all get lots of great fic and art to enjoy! Easy, eh? The schedule for the rest of the fest is as follows: Tuesday 8th May – Author/artist ads posted. Friday 11th May - All requests must be received by this date. Monday 14th May – Assignments will be sent out by this date at the latest. Monday 16th July - Submissions are due. Wednesday 1st August – Posting starts. The exact schedule will depend on the number of participants. Even if you've dropped out of a Reversathon in the past, you will still be eligible to take part. You don't need to have an LJ/IJ/DW in order to participate, but you must include some form of identifying name, however minor. If you are unable to make an anonymous comment you can send the required sign-up info direct to the mods at reversathon @ refugeeblues.com. Please ALWAYS include either your identifying name or the name of LJ/IJ/DW you signed up under in all correspondence with the fest mods to preserve their sanity *g* ( Sign up template and more info on filling it out below the cut ) All comments are screened, but we will compile a list of participants at regular intervals and add it to the end of this post so you can easily check if your sign-up is in. If there is any problem with your sign-up, for example if you’ve missed any important info out, we will drop you a line to sort it out before adding you to the participant list. * Please note this means that you will not know the real journal name of the recipient. If there are pressing reasons why you need to not be matched with a particular participant you will have chance to let the mods know, but we ask that you only do this if it’s absolutely necessary.
