Reversathon Request Post - comments are now open for requests Participants please make your requests to this post for Reversathon 2012!
The comments on this post are now open for you to post your requests and will remain open until around midnight BST (GMT+1) on Friday 11th May. (When is that?)
You will be able to make your requests on any of our three communities, but you will notice the author/artist ads are hosted only on one – DW is the only one that allows a long enough post for them all. Your mods do not want to edit three different posts every time an ad needs to be removed, for obvious reasons.
If you can't make a comment for any reason you can email your requests to the usual address - reversathon @ refugeeblues.com.
If you notice anything incorrect in your author/artist ad, please let us know asap by emailing reversathon @ refugeeblues.com.
We now need everyone who has already signed up to participate to make three requests - one request each to three different authors or artists. All three requests should be made in one comment, please. Requests should match the profile as closely as possible - any which do not fit with the ad will be discounted. Please do not make identical requests of multiple authors/artists – make them different as far as you can.
If you need to make changes to your request or I ask you for additional ones, please don't delete your first comment but add a new one with the info in it.
If you're commenting with a different journal or if you don't have a journal, don't forget to include the name you signed up under. All comments will be screened.
Please make your request in this format (just copy and paste, don't worry about formatting bold etc.):
Request #1 – Author/Artist #?? Request details for one fic/art. These details must specify one pairing or character you wish to be the focus of the fic/art. They should also include a scenario or some other form of prompt. Alternate pairings that you'd be happy with for this scenario: This is not essential, but if you wish these may be listed here. This will help if participants drop out and requests need to be assigned to backups, or if your author/artist gets stuck.
Request #2 – Author/Artist #?? Request details for one fic/art. These details must specify one pairing or character you wish to be the focus of the fic/art. They should also include a scenario or some other form of prompt. Alternate pairings that you'd be happy with for this scenario: This is not essential, but if you wish these may be listed here. This will help if participants drop out and requests need to be assigned to backups, or if your author/artist gets stuck.
Request #3 – Author/Artist #?? Request details for one fic/art. These details must specify one pairing or character you wish to be the focus of the fic/art. They should also include a scenario or some other form of prompt. Alternate pairings that you'd be happy with for this scenario: This is not essential, but if you wish these may be listed here. This will help if participants drop out and requests need to be assigned to backups, or if your author/artist gets stuck.
Please note that authors/artists will be removed from the list as soon as possible after four valid requests have been received for them. Check that all three of your selected authors/artists are available before you post your comment, and have extra requests ready if possible in case one of your choices of author/artist has gone. If you post a request for an author/artist who has received four requests already you will receive an email as soon as possible asking you to make another selection. As far as possible I'll also contact you for alternative requests if one or more of your requests is disqualified due to not matching the profile, but please take care to avoid this if you can!
Do remember that just because an author/artist says they are up for a challenge does not mean you can ask for things they are not offering. It's just there for guidance if you're not sure if what you're requesting is going to cause a panic. Oh, and try not to request fic or art from yourself, of course!
Additionally, there are a couple of things you should not request:
Crossovers – the format can't support crossovers without a lot of hassle, so if offered/mentioned they have been edited out of sign ups for the author/artist ads.
Long fics – please don't specify a long fic as an essential part of your request even if the author has explicitly volunteered to write one. Choose writers who offer long fics and mention that you enjoy them by all means. Asking for plotty is fine as long as (as always) it matches what is on offer from that writer.
