Lenna looked up at him with wide, blue eyes when he said the word 'we' in his suggestion, to hear that he was actually taking her into account that way. She was going to deny that what she'd said was anything he should trouble himself over, worried for a moment that what she had said had come out sounding wrong and she'd put him in an awkward position, but something about his demeanor seemed both at ease and earnest, saying what he had because he wanted to. As soon as she realized that, she felt touched by the gesture, just for the fact he would even consider her in such a way.
At first, Lenna wanted to decline that offer-- really, just this one event had been enough of getting out and about for her. Although normally she would of been up for going out, she still wasn't feeling her best. Even to go along with this, initially, felt more like work to her, going because she didn't want her father's generosity to go to waste. But, as she'd said, she ended up enjoying herself unexpectedly once she was actually there. So she wondered then if it wouldn't be the same, if she would unexpectedly find herself glad she had come along. What was to be gained, anyway, by just moping around the house? Not that's what she was doing really, feeling sorry for herself or anything like that, but it still wasn't an environment that was helping her move past any lingering feelings either.
"You think...so?" she asked him finally, thinking this all really too nice of him, to be giving her more of his time than he already had tonight. She smiled at what he said next. "Hmm.. would a 'real' party be something my father would approve of?" Lenna asked him, tilting her head a little towards him, looking at him in this way with a moment of warmth in her expression. In a way, she was asking him as someone who knew that position as well, but also, just a bit playfully, since she wasn't sheltered to the point she was immature. Quite the opposite, at times she acted a lot older than her young age of twenty. "I think, I would like that," she followed up, because even that short moment of teasing was more casual than Lenna typically was-- probably brought out by how the other acted, so different from most she knew-- and she couldn't let very long pass before she had to be honest, and polite again.
