Who: Lucifer, Michael, (Later Dean, Dean, and Castiel) What: End battle (Transition to season 6) Where: Stull Cemetary, Lawrence Kansas When: Nov 7th, morning Rating: R Status: Closed
This wasn't the way Lucifer wanted things to end. In fact, he wasn't wanting things to end at all. Michael wasn't supposed to show, he wasn't supposed to be involved. Dean hadn't said yes, instead, Michael had taken Adam. Lucifer knew he should have done something about the half-brother, but then again, maybe he did want to see Michael. It had been millenia since Lucifer had even heard from his brother last, and now it was upon them. The final battle.
He knew where he had to go, and he knew what he had to do. But he didn't want to kill Michael. Maybe there was a way to talk his way out of it. Perhaps Michael felt the same way he did. Maybe he could find a way to convince Michael that this choice really was for the best. If their Father really wanted earth to be crashing down like it was, would He have left like He did? That was all that made sense to Lucifer. That God wanted this, that God wanted him to fix the world, because he had made it worse.
It was Lucifer who corrupted the first human. It was a statement. Something to show their Father that humans were not perfect, they were horrible. And at their core, they were worse. But that little move got him booted from Heaven, and with that pain weighing down heavily on his heart, Lucifer didn't understand why He had let the humans survive. Even after leaving them to their own demise, instead of just destroying the broken toys. They were aborted. A project left to fail on its own, while God went off and did his own thing.
Lucifer landed softly in the grass of the empty cemetary. He waited quietly for the rustle of Michael's wings. He knew he was coming, he could feel it in every fiber of his being. Even Sam was stiring with anticipation. The younger brother quietly stared at the grass, trying to think of ways to convince his older sibling that this was right, and they shouldn't fight, because that was wrong.
