Who: Arthur and Eames What: Rushing in to see his friend When: Feb 10th Where: Lawrence Hospital Rating: Highish probably Status: Closed
Arthur had been back in town now for about 6 hours. He'd been keeping up with the local reports, waiting to hear why the whole world had been apparently frozen for about 6 months. He'd traveled out to see if the whole world had actually been affected, and to his surprise, it had.
Bank robberies. That wasn't something that usually happened in Lawrence. At least it hadn't happened in the time he'd been here. Once he returned to Lawrence, he made his way back to see Eames. He was sure the other was worried that he hadn't heard from him since the 'thaw', but the other wasn't home. Arthur figured he'd been at work, and decided to see what he'd missed at Torchwood. But as he approached the building, a broadcast came across his comm, and the only thing that registered was 'Eames'.
Forgetting everything else, Arthur ran to the hospital and burst through the front doors. This got him several looks from the elderly sitting in the waiting room, but he simply rushed forward, ignoring them, and headed to the lady that sat comfortably behind the counter.
"I'm here to see Eames Dorrance." He stated, placing both hands on the counter to steady himself.
"I'm sorry, no visitors allowed. He's in no condition to see friends." She stated, not looking up from her computer.
Leaning forward, Arthur attempted to keep calm. "I'm his husband." He stated, waiting for the woman to look up and actually pay attention to the people around her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll have a nurse take you up." She said, still not looking away from the computer screen as she picked up the phone and called someone.
Arthur fixed his suit, and straightened his polka dot shirt. This time, it was just a plain black tie. As a woman appeared from one of the elevators, she walked towards Arthur with a smile. "Right this way, Mr. Dorrance." Arthur attempted not to roll his eyes as he followed her.
As they came up in the elevator, Arthur felt like everyone was intentionally dragging their feet while he was trying to see if his friend was okay. The woman lead him down the hall at a disgustingly slow pace, and stopped at a closed door and knocked twice.
"Mr. Dorrance, your husband is here to see you." She said, pushing the door open slightly and moving out of the way just in time for Arthur to rush past her.
"What the hell happened?" Arthur growled as he stepped into the room and locked his eyes on Eames.
