Connor offered Katniss another smile as he noticed Peeta. "Just because you're eighteen doesn't mean you can't stick around. You don't have a house yet, so you could just stay the night if anything." Connor was soft, despite his irish accent. He noticed Katniss start her sentence, and paused.
"I don't expect ye to call me your day, Katniss. You can call me Connor, or Mr. MacManus if you really want. And I don't wanna replace anyone in either of your lives." He wasn't sure if he'd offended her, but he didn't want her to think that he was forcing Prim or Peeta to call him anything. To him, she resembled a very strong, but very frightened young woman.
"At least have lunch with us. You don't gotta stay, but I think Peeta and Prim might like it if you did." He said once more, blue eyes genuine as he turned into the kitchen to ready another plate whether she declined or not. He had a feeling Prim would keep pushing until she said yes. And he was glad to see Peeta recognizing someone.
