Arriane wasn’t fully convinced at Balthazar’s claims of just going with it, but she wasn’t going to pursue the topic any further. At times she could be a very persistent individual, but this didn’t seem like the right time. They were here as an escape, weren’t they? She didn’t want to wreck it with overly serious conversation.
She nipped at her lower lip as she was sometimes prone to do when occupied with idle thought and was silent for a second before plopping down in a seated position in the middle of some tall grass. Arriane slouched back against the trunk of a tree and patted a spot next to her.
“Sit with me.” She smiled pleasantly. “Let’s talk.”
