It took a lot of nerve for Jesse to show up at this party. He knew nothing would be able to find him unless he gave himself away, but that constant fear was always there. Always weighing in on his shoulders. He just wanted to have fun, and kind of hoped to run into some of his friends.
He hadn't bothered to call Krissy, which now he was sort of regretting, and ask her to come, too. But Jesse had decided if he didn't see her within the first ten minutes, he'd call her and ask her if she'd come. That way, he didn't seem too desperate, and if she was busy, she could always say no.
Standing by the table by himself, Jesse stood with a drink in hand. The only thing in the cup was a small amount of red liquid, easily identified as fruit punch. Alcohol had never appealed to the young anti-christ, and sugary drinks always seemed like the better choice.
