Calypso's Isle - Setting Description
The following is a basic description of the ship and life on board. Even though the game is contained within the ship, it's a actually huge area in which to play. Please take the time to read this post to familiarize yourself with the ship. (This post will be updated with sample pics of different areas.)
Welcome to Calypso’s Isle
Calypso’s Isle is a private BDSM/sex cruise liner owned by Babylon Enterprises. It is named after the mythological nymph, Calypso, who held Odysseus prisoner (as a virtual sex slave) on her island for seven years. After several of its private clubs were raided by authorities and their true nature revealed to the public, Babylon decided to move this part of its operations off-shore. As the flagship of Babylon’s exclusive fleet of oceanic cruisers, Calypso’s Isle is the perfect setting for the rich and powerful to explore their darkest and most decadent desires free from the threat of discovery.
Life on board:
Everyone on board is implanted with an identification chip on the back of the left hand. This is both for security and for access to the different areas of the ship. While some decks can be accessed by stairs, all decks have elevators. Some elevators only go to certain places: elevator from slave quarters to play deck for ease of movement to play cabins and sick bay.
Calypso’s Isle is a state-of-the-art residential cruise ship. It is home not only to slaves and crew members, but also to its wealthy passengers. Most of the passengers/masters are long-time, high-ranking members of Babylon. Regardless of how long they’ve been members of Babylon, those who have come to Calypso’s Isle to live have forsaken the puritanical restrictions of the outside world for the liberty and seclusion on the ship. While most of the amenities the ship has to offer are included in the monthly “rent” masters pay to live on board, slaves are not part of that cost. Time with slaves must be booked and purchased separately along with the cost of the “play cabin.” Master can book slaves on either their PDA’s or on the laptops in their suites or in the business center. Master accommodations are outrageously luxurious suites on the mid-upper deck.
While the masters are free to go come and go when the ship makes port (most have chosen to reside on the ship long term), crew members are bound to serve on the ship until reassigned elsewhere. Officers and other key personnel are well compensated and receive generous benefits for their work. To keep slaves available for paying masters, crew members are ordinarily not allowed to book slaves. However, one of the perks of the job is the accruement of “slave time”. Crew members in good standing can earn a certain number of hours to spend with a slave of their choice during off hours. This benefit alone makes the whole thing worthwhile to many crew members. Crew members are required to be in uniform whenever they are not in their own cabins. Officers have modest, private cabins; while other crew members have to share the cabin with a roommate.
Life for a slave on the Calypso’s Isle is a mixture of uncertainty, terror, and fleeting moments of ecstasy. They have no choice as to who will book them or what will be done to them. A major source of danger and dread for slaves are the guards and their overzealous attempts to maintain order. Slaves sentenced to the ship are generally there for life. Slave cabins are small and cramped with a barred door, and have to be shared between two slaves.
Setting:
The ship consists of ten decks. From the bottom up:
