Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
who: millicent & theodore
where: near the forbidden forest
why: becauseeeee he convinced her to let him sit with her.
when: mid-evening?

Millie wasn't in the mood for talking, fighting or anything, she felt awful and dizzy. Missing her meals, being on her curse week was definitely not the best time for her to be around people but she wasn't now. For a long while, she even thought she might sob for a minute, but the feeling of a scaly touched stopped her and she picked it up. A part of her wanted to talk to the tiny slithering creature and the other part was hesitant and she just rested it on her hands in her lap.

Making a shiver, she pulled her dull-greenish grey coat closed, pulled up her plaid shirt collar a little and repositioned her skirt so none of her body was visible. Millicent lowered head head, letting her black hair rush forward and curtain her unhealthy pale visage from being seen.

Millicent might not have believed it, but Teddy had no intention of picking a fight. If anything, he actually felt sorry for the girl. No, they weren't close mates, but she was still in his house and, as such, he cared about her. Sure, she had bullied others before, but usually at someone's beckoning or in provocation. The whole Ginny fiasco seemed fishy to Teddy, especially coupled with Millicent's earlier entries.

He might not have been so understanding prior to Potter's short return to the journals, but, after that, everything had changed for Teddy. He stopped fighting to believe in any sort of fairness for anyone, inside or outside of Hogwarts. Then, receiving Shacklebolt's letter just added insult to injury. Teddy's anger scared him, but he couldn't help it. He latched onto the few he had always trusted and pushed everyone else away, but, in his heart, he felt they had pushed first. So, needless to say, he empathized with Millicent's fury. He really wanted to punch someone too. He wouldn't so he punched his pillow, but still.

"Hey, Millicent." Teddy spotted her finally and smiled a bit. "I'd ask how you are, but..." He shrugged. "Seems we wouldn't be out here freezing our bums off if you were happy, yeah?" Chuckling some, he plopped next to her. "Thanks for letting me come."

The air approaching Millie was thick, like someone heated up a room and turned on the fog machine. The girl didn't move, simply set there on the rock without a word for a while,"You are welcome, I guess. You don't have to stay here if you don't want to though." Millicent turned her cool switch on, like she was a mountain with no way to be broken down. This was her way of hiding her problems, pretending to be strong and not really needing friends or anybody really. It appeared to be apathy with her monotone voice and dull manner.

"Why did you come here? I'm sure they miss you at the Common Room." Her voice said flatly, trying to seem like she was fine, like nothing was wrong with her. She felt unbelievably sick, her hand moved to her head and rubbed it gently to coax it to stop making her feel wrong.

Teddy didn't tell her he was probably not exactly popular for defending her just then. Still, that didn't mean he approved because he certainly didn't. But he also wanted to make sure she wasn't going to explode and hurt someone else. Or herself. "They'll live," he replied dryly, "Besides, it was getting awfully stuffy inside the castle anyway." He added a teasing note to his voice, hoping she'd ease up.

The snake was writhing around, trying to gather warmth from Millie's lap, so she put her clothed arms on it to protect it. After a moment of that, she rubbed her hands on her head, closing her eyes so her head would stop pounding. The feeling had her head feel woosy, but she appeared fine for now because she wasn't swaying or anything.

"I hate school, I want to leave. I want to go home." Millicent went quiet, figuring she was giving him too much information. Leaning down, she let the snake leave her and her forearms rested against her thighs so she could curl up kind of while sitting up.

Despite their house, Teddy wasn't exactly fond of snakes and scooted away as the creature slid off Millicent's lap. "Want to know a secret?" Leaning in, he whispered, "Me too."

Millicent wasn't listening to Theodore, her mind was blanking out back and forth as she set there alone. Perhaps part of the reason that she invited him along was so she didn't have to tell him anything, it could just happen. Then again, it was her fault, her problem and it was the only thing about herself that she could control without money, humanity or questions.

"Theodore, I have a question? Suppose you had someone close to you with problems but they didn't want to tell and you already knew about it. Could you tell if you knew it would destroy a person?" Millie said, looking at Theodore and then away.

Why was everyone asking him the philosophical questions all of a sudden? In his mind frame, he was probably the least schooled on such matters. He glanced toward the shining moon and thought for a moment. "I suppose if it was something that would ultimately make him a better person, yeah, I would." He bit his lip, looking back toward her. "If it was something he really needed to know, a real mate would tell even if he'd be angry for a bit."

That was it. Millicent's great ability to talk about her problems, too insecure to be honest about it out and had to know the possible consequences. While he spoke, she swayed back and forth, her stomach hurt and cramps ached. Suddenly, her body swayed to the right and she fell right onto the ground unable to hold up her body much less sit up straight.

Leaning over, her hands pressed against the ground and she forced herself up. Millie knew that he'd ask her something now and she just tried to blow it off,"I'm just not feeling well, sorry." She finished, closing her eyes and leaning against the rock she was sitting on.

Teddy had crouched down next to her and was looking her over as best as he could in the dark. "Millicent! You need to go to Madam Pomfrey."

Madam Pomfrey

What was she going to do? She could go there, but walking back would most likely lead to another sudden spell. Millicent's head was pounding, had she not been leaning against the rock, she would have definitely fell back. "I can't do that, Theodore." Millicent said as sternly as possible, her eyes focused on him and then lowered to the ground.

"Yes, you can." He fixed her with a stern look and gripped her elbows. "Millicent, does anything hurt? Have you ever fainted before?" He rattled off questions he heard others ask in those types of situations.

"No, I can't. I'm not going to go there, I don't need to be treated." Millicent gave him an extremely insecure look on her face, something she couldn't hide,"No." lies. After a paused she shook her head,"No, I've never fainted before." Millie didn't struggled from him, but didn't want him to get any more stern with her.

"I'm fine, I am.."

"You are not fine," Teddy argued, unwilling to give in that easily. "You need to be checked over. And you probably need a bit of sugar in you too. We can get you some fruit inside. Come on." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Don't dare punch me either, Millicent." He winked teasingly, but, in truth, was only half kidding.

I need more food than that. Millicent frowned, making an attempt to be rude to Theodore by grabbing his collar to keep him grounded. "It's humiliating." She frowned. Figuring it was useless, she let go of Theodore's collar.

Theodore merely rolled his eyes and scowled when she grabbed for his collar. "For pity's sake, don't go yanking at me." He attempted to pull her to her feet with one arm still wrapped around her shoulders. "And no it's not. It happens."

Millicent felt like a waify, clearly severely underweight as her clothing made her look much heavier than she really was. When he pulled her up to her feet, she didn't want or need his help. Angrily, she made an attempt to push him off of her, it seemed to strange that she could still throw a punch but not the energy to throw Theodore off him. Had she been much more healthy, she could have thrown him off of her like a bull throwing a kitten off it's back.

"No, Theodore. I'm staying." Silly words coming from someone who couldn't fight off the weedy boy.

"Millicent, I'll even go with you." Teddy didn't forcibly move her any more than he already had. He supported her weight with his body, but he didn't see any reason to take away her choices and, ultimately, going to Pomfrey was Millicen'ts choice.

An odd thoughts struck him. Could Millicent actually be afraid? It prompted his offer and he smiled reassuringly.

Millicent didn't want to go forward, she wanted to stay and was being even more stubborn. When he said he'd go with her, she turned to look straight at his face and frowned,"Please..they'll laugh at me." She was bloody afraid of what would be said and what would have to happen to her and if it would get around. The fact that Theodore knew something was already more than enough.

"That isn't..." The words died on his lips. He couldn't make promises for anyone outside of himself. He had learned that lesson the hard way. "I'll hex them myself if they do," he said instead.

Millicent was silent, in thought for a few minutes while she just stared at him for any sort of faltering. When he didn't, she silently agreed not to fight him anymore. Moving her hand against her forehead, her body fell against Theodore more than she'd like. "Theodore, I'm sorry.."
