Who: Neville Longbottom and Ginny Weasley When: Saturday night, just past curfew Where: Gryffindor common room What: A heart-to-heart that will likely be completely and utterly adorable Rating: Give it about a PG-13, just in case of Ginny's mouth!
Neville was glad he had made friends with the house elves through Ernie. Thanks to that, it took no time at all to get a couple of mugs of steaming cocoa brought up to Gryffindor tower. He was afraid he of the entirely unnatural grace would have to trek up those awful horrible evil stairs with two incredibly hot drinks. Having them brought made it ten times easier, and he was waiting on the couch in front of the fireplace with the them when Ginny came down with the biscuits.
If he allowed himself a moment to really think on it, Neville would have to admit it was getting harder and harder to have these sorts of talks with Ginny. They'd been having them for Merlin knew how long, but all it did was increase the feelings that came over him when he was around her. It didn't really help that Ginny was incredibly affectionate and always left him with that twinge of hope that maybe, someday, there could be something more. It was one thing when Hermione talked in general about him finding someone, but it was another entirely when Neville only wanted one someone and it was one he couldn't have.
After all, who could ever compete with The Chosen One?
Pushing those sorts of ideas from his already full mind, he curled up into the couch comfortably as he waited, setting the mugs on the side tables and pulling the sleeves of his jumper down over his hands. He'd given up trying to impress her a year ago. Now, when she joined him, it would just be Neville.
