Dear Kaleigh Nott,

I, Padma Patil a fellow classmate of your son Theodore Nott, am writing this letter to you with a purpose that I do not take lightly. I do not mean to be a bother and I also wish not to be seen as some young teenager only being a bothersome fly. I have genuine concern for recent political events that would affect you and your family. I have a few questions as to your experience with the 'investigations' of your household and how it affected you. I would like to hear your side of the story and your opinion on the matter. Please tell me anything you are willing to divulge and if you wish for you name not to be printed I am willing to oblige. I do not want to create any trouble for anyone I plan to interview. I do intend to contact your son on the matter, but if you wish me not to talk to him I will respect that. I give everyone the chance not to discuss with me.

Just so you know my intentions of the information I gather I plan to write a column for our school, a bulletin of sorts. I plan to post this article for all to see in my journal. I want people to see a side that the Prophet is not willing, or able, to write. Please give me a chance to let your voice be heard, even if it is from the pen of a competent Ravenclaw seventh year student.

Please reply to me as soon as possible, whether it be for a chance to speak face to face or just your thoughts in a letter on the current events.

Sincerely,
Padma Patil

Padma,

I will need time to think on this. However, my son is quite old enough to make his own choices. He's free to speak to you if that is what he wishes.

I will have a decision within a few days.

Sincerely,
Kaleigh Nott

Miss Patil,

History is always written by the victor. The aftermath of war is, as well. Those who lose accept their fates with as much grace as they can.

But not when children are the victims of the aftermath as well.

I will not speak for my wife, but I do not believe it is prudent to communicate with you on this issue. I have said what I needed to say before the Ministry and to those whose opinion will matter. This being said, I hold no personal objections to the idea of your articles, Miss Patil. Salazar willing, you will be heard. Good luck.

If you wish to speak to Draco on this - well. I would prefer you didn't, but I am not going to deny him the opportunity to speak if that is what he wishes.

Regards,

Lucius Malfoy
