getting ready for the ball!
WHO: All females!
WHEN: A few hours before the ball
WHERE: A tent on the grounds
RATING: PG
STATUS: On-going

What better way to bond girls than over make-up charms, dresses, and fancy heels? Well, alright, there were probably a dozen other ways, but Tonks was tackling one matter at a time. She didn't know what sort of turn-out to expect, but if she gained even one female from each House, she gained a lot she figured.

She studied her reflection in one of the mirrors; she had chosen to wear her hair red and curly that evening. Sure, she was chaperoning, but that didn't mean she couldn't have some fun too. Despite being forced to give her very first detention (to someone from her own House, too!) she was still a kid at a heart and looking forward to dancing, punch, and biscuits.

She giggled as a fifth year attempted to get the Headmistress to wear her hair down. Convincing Minerva to attend had been a feat, but, in the end, Tonks won the old lady over. She had that affect on people, after all. Well, some people.

Hannah was quietly grateful that Tonks had arranged this get together. To be honest, despite having two older sisters, Hannah was no girly girl. Makeup was a foreign concept and her hair almost automatically made it into a ponytail every morning before classes. This was, of course, to say nothing of those awful shoes.

Glancing into one of the mirrors set up off to the side, Hannah sighed and tugged anxiously at the edge of her button-down shirt. Now what? Her hair. Start with her hair. Reaching for her brush, she carefully pulled the elastic band out of her ponytail and began brushing it out. It was a small step, but an important one.

Samantha looked around a bit hesitantly, after all, she couldn't say she was very good friends with anyone at the school. She knew her share about dresses and makeup, not to mention how to do her hair. She wasn't a pureblooded witch for nothing, but for some reason, knowing that here she was getting ready to get ready for a ball with a bunch of girls she didn't know well... well it made her a bit uneasy. To say the least.
