Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Mandy Brocklehurst & Anthony Goldstein.
Where: The Three Broomsticks, Hogsmeade.
When: Backdated to Saturday, the 7th.
What: Quality time with friends.
Status: In progress

Anthony was more than glad it was finally the Hogsmeade weekend. He had been working hard for the past two months and though he loved Hogwarts, it was nice to get out of the castle. Especially when it meant the chance to hang out with his mates. He had left Mandy a note to meet him at the Three Broomsticks where he was waiting for her already. He had finished with his errands sooner than he had planned, thus he had decided to order himself a butterbeer to keep him occupied while waiting. He hold up one of the new quills he had bought, examining it as if it was the most interesting thing he had seen in a long time. That was Anthony for you, he got excited by, well, practically everything.

Mandy needed a day out in Hogsmeade. For the past few weeks, she felt that all she had been doing was homework and working out plans for Ravenclaw's match against Hufflepuff. Though Slytherin and Gryffindor's match would be first, she needed to get her plans done before hand that way it'd be easier to make adjustments for when Ravenclaw played one of those teams after Hufflepuff.

She had found the note left by Anthony and was pleased to go meet him. When it was time to head to the Three Broomsticks, she had most of her shopping done, she saved going to Honeydukes last, so she wouldn't spend most of her day eating the sweets that she had bought. When she did finally arrive, she saw Anthony was already there..admiring his new quill? The sight made Mandy smile and let out a small laugh.

"Nice quill," she replied smirking at her fellow house mate once she reached him. "You reckon if you stare at it long enough it'll do a trick?" Mandy teased as she took a seat next to him.

A large grin appeared on his face when Anthony saw Mandy. He didn't mind her teasing him not one bit, despite what some might have thought, he was always up for a bit of laugh. "Oh, I wish," he replied, curling his bottom lip into a pout, "I'm afraid the quill that does tricks was a bit too expensive. Had to settle for an ordinary one this time." He gave her a warm smile as he slip the quill back into his bag.

"So, how're you, Mandy?" Anthony asked. "I know we see each other all the time, but we've both been mighty busy for a proper chat lately, haven't we?" He knew she had loads of work to do to get the Ravenclaw team ready for the matches and with their final year, it was bound to get a little busy. Anthony himself didn't really mind having all that homework and also the prefect obligations, provided that there were little joys in between, such as Quidditch matches. He was a big fan of Quidditch, though he himself was never that great to actually play for the house team. He wasn't too bummed out, though, he enjoyed being a spectator and rooting for his mates.

"Oh, would you like some butterbeer?" he suddenly remembered when turning his gaze at his own mug.

Mandy smirked, letting out a small laugh she took a spot next to Anthony. It felt nice to just relax at Hogsmeade with one of her friends, especially Anthony, it was fun teasing him and he didn't mind it so what could be better?

"Oh I'm alright, yeah I agree, it's crazy how busy it's getting for us seventh years yeah?" At the mention of butterbeer, she sat up with a smile. "Oh yeah, butterbeer sounds great." Mandy reached down into her bag to try and find her coin pouch, accidently knocking out her Quidditch journal, when she tried to catch it, she accidentally spilled most of her things from her bag. "Ah bugger," she replied trying not to laugh. "Such a clutz."

Anthony gave a kind-hearted laugh when Mandy struggled with her bag. He meant no harm by it, naturally, it was more that he really hadn't noticed her being a clutz before. But accidents do happen, so he called out to Madam Rosmerta who was taking orders at the near-by table, asking for a butterbeer for Mandy before rushing from his seat to help her gather her belongings.

"I don't even know what I expected," he said, handing Mandy her things and continuing with their conversation, "well, I knew the final year was going to be a lot of work, but I reckon I thought it'd be a bit easier." He flashed her an almost apologetic smile, as if he thought he had crossed a line of sorts. In a way, that's what he thought. He was taught not to complain (by his father, certainly not by his drama queen of a grandmother however wonderful person she was in other aspects) and a part of him feared he was doing just that. The truth was, after all, he didn't even mind working a lot. He was taught, by his grandfather this time, that hard work would lead to good things, happiness being on the top of the list. Anthony shrugged it all off, though, as he noticed Madam Rosmerta heading their way already.

He quickly jumped up and fished the correct amount of money from his pocket. He paid the pub proprietor and smiled at Mandy: "This one's on me, I hope you don't mind." He was a right gentleman, a trait that occasionally had the tendency to upset people around him. Not that it was a bad thing to have good manners and be very attentive, but there were people who tended to find that a bit annoying. He was never smug about having good manners, it was just self-explanatory to him. Anthony didn't really see why would politeness annoy some, but then again, he sometimes failed to see why some people didn't want random, but interesting facts thrown their way at random times.
