Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Susan and Justin
Where: Library
When: Wednesday after class
What. Susan goes looking for Justin and finally find him!
Rating: PG for now.
Status: Ongoing

It had been too long since she had seen Justin. Ever since he locked himself away in the hospital wing he had refused to let anyone see him, even her. For someone who was already very emotionally unstable and depressed, this really did not help. Susan only had Justin, Zach and Sally-Anne that she spent time with. Zach and Justin were like family to her so the fact that he had refused her company up till now really hurt her.

She had taken to looking for him after class every day. She had no hope on finding him today but decided to check the library and see if he was hiding out there after she didn't find him outside or anyone in the Hufflepuff dorm rooms. She looked around and finally by some miracle found him in the far corner. She gasped as she saw him, taking a minute or two to just watch him before she made her way over to him. She had her head lowered as she reached him. "J..Justin."She squeaked out, her voice quiet and near tears.

Justin still wasn't sleeping well. At least now he could take advantage of his lack of sleep to catch up with the school work from the past week. Sprout had brought his assignments to the infirmary, of course, but Justin hadn't kept up with it as well as he should have. He had four more papers to write, and he probably wasn't going to finish any of them, not with the way his mind kept wandering off.

He hadn't even noticed Susan's approach, and when she said his name, he jumped in surprise, looking up sharply. ...Oh god. "Susie," he whispered.

Susan had her head still lowered and bit her lip nervously as he replied to her, not knowing if he would be happy to see her or not. When she heard him reply she couldn't help but drop down onto the seat next to him and hug him, letting herself cry.

Shit. "Oh, please don't cry, Susie," he murmured softly, wrapping his arms around her and rubbing her back soothingly. God, he hated this. He hated knowing that he was the one making Susie feel like this, especially when she (and Zach and Madame) were the only people he could talk to. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

Susan couldn't help but cry. That was all she seemed to do these days. One small thing would make her burst into tears. She was not convinced she had come down with honest to god depression because in her mind, this level of sadness was not normal. She rarely if ever felt happy, she had no drive to do anything. Her grades were slipping slightly and she rarely smiled. The war was over, things were not supposed to be like this!

Susan whimpered and let her tears fall, her cries muffled by Justin. She slowly stopped her crying as Justin rubbed her back. "I just hate being like this all the time. I hate being depressed. The war is over! I should be happy, not depressed all the time." She told him in a pathetic way.

"I know," Justin whispered, closing his eyes and turning his face into her hair. He was a horrible person. He made friends cry, and he hurt people, and he didn't deserve to be here. He didn't deserve any of it. "I'm so... so sorry, Susie," he mumbled, trying desperately to keep back tears of his own, and curled his fingers gently into her hair. "'m sorry, 'm sorrysorrysorry, so, so sorry."

Feeling Justin turn his face into her hair and hold her made her want to curl up even more into his arms. She needed him to hold her to calm her down. All she ever wanted was for someone to care about her in any way. The feeling of an arm around her, or fingers curled into her hair was relaxing for her.

She clung onto Justin, her crying slowly turning into more quiet whimpers. "I am just happy you are here now. I missed you the past few days. Never leave me again. Hurts too much." She begged, as she layed her head on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry," he breathed, stroking his fingers gently through Susie's hair and trying not to think about what he was planning to do. God, she'd kill him if she found out he was going home. Pushing the thought from his mind, Justin nuzzled further into Susan's hair, breathing in deeply and letting out a slow breath. Merlin, this was nice. He'd always loved holding Susan, and her hair always smelled so good... "'m sorry," he repeated, squeezing her gently.

Susan whimpers slowly diminished the more she felt Justin nuzzle into her hair. Susan definitely would be upset if she knew what he was thinking of doing. She could not imagine being at Hogwarts without him.

Susan liked this too, this was why she liked Justin so much. She felt calm and happy around him. She had a bond with him that she didn't have with most other people. He was her first friend here and he knew her the best out of all her friends. "Sokay. You are here now. Please don't apologize any more."

Justin nodded, sighing heavily as he leaned into Susan, body relaxing. This was completely lovely. So lovely, in fact, that Justin was actually feeling tired for once. It had to be because of Susan. There was obviously something about her that relaxed him. Maybe it was because they'd been so close for so long. Or maybe her presence was like a comfort blanket. Either way, Justin had the sudden urge to curl up with her and fall asleep, something that very much couldn't be done in the library.

"D'you wanna go back to the common room?" he asked softly. "'m really... really tired."

Susan felt him relax into her arms. She smiled slightly at that, feeling much better already. She ran her hand up and down his back, starting to hum a bit to further relax herself. At his question she pulled away enough to look him in the eyes and nodded. "I would like that. Common room it is. Sleeping in the library is not a wise idea." She whispered back as she took his hand in hers as she got to her feet.

"No, 's not," he agreed, squeezing Susan's hand and climbing to his feet. He gathered his things into his bag and slung it over his shoulder, lacing his fingers through Susan's and giving her a gentle smile. "C'mon. We'll go claim that chair we used to take in first year." Might be a little tighter now that they weren't eleven any more, but Justin didn't mind if she didn't.

Susan giggled slightly at Justin and nodded in agreement as he got his things packed up. She tightened the grip on his hand just slightly as he laced his fingers into hers. At his suggestion she nodded and grinned, "Hopefully no one is on it now. That is still my favourite chair. Too bad you can't get up to my dorm room." She said to him with a grin on her face.

"If there's someone there, we'll kick them out. This is our last year. Not much they can do to us." Justin's smile grew slightly as they started out of the library and toward the Hufflepuff common room. "We could get into the boys' dorm, though, if we really want a bed." Honestly, he preferred the chair, but if Susan wanted to go up to his room, he wouldn't mind, as long as he got to spend time with her.

Susan smirked and nodded, "Of course we will. Us seventh years get first pick to seats and chairs." She joked back and smiled back at Justin as they made their way out of the library. "We could but I prefer the chair, don't you?" she muttered back with a grin as she started swinging their hand back and forth. Susan felt happy now and the spring in her step was evidence of it.

"I do too," Justin agreed, giving Susan's hand a gentle squeeze as it swung between them. They reached the common room in no time, and Justin was pleased to find their chair open. He led Susan over and dropped his bag, flopping into the chair and tugging Susan into his lap. There. This was loads better than the library. Sighing contentedly, Justin nuzzled back into Susan's hair, wrapping his arms around her comfortably.

Once they got to the common room she was glad to see that the chair was open. She let him sit down first and then let him tug her into his lap. She curled up into his arms, laying her head on his chest. She smiled happily as she sat like this. She was glad she found Justin. She loved being like this, happy and peaceful. Not the sad, depressed mess she was most of the time.
