WHO: Michael Corner & Lisa Turpin WHAT: Celebrating Christmas WHEN: Christmas WHERE: Michael's home RATING: PG STATUS: DONE!
Lisa was happy that it was Christmas. It was great seeing all of her family together again, as it had been a year since she had last seen them. But now that time with family was over, Lisa wanted to see Michael. Although she had said "I love you" to him a couple of weeks prior, that incident was behind her. However, there were a few things from that night that she was bringing with her. She had the mistletoe and an outfit to be a naughty elf, which she was sure he'd appreciate. Once at Michael's, she knocked on the door, prepared with a big grin on her face for when Michael opened it.
Michael had cleverly orchestrated a plan to finally be alone with Lisa while at his house. He had suggested his father take his step-mother and step-sister to dinner and a play they had both desperately wanted to see as a Christmas gift in order to get the house for the night. When his father expressed concern that Michael would feel left out, the Ravenclaw assured the man that they'd have father and son bonding time the next weekend. That night, however? It was all about Michael and Lisa.
When he heard her at the door, he couldn't help the goofy smile that appeared. Trying to appear cool, he opened the door. "All alone, how do you fancy that?" He kissed her full on the lips before pulling her inside. "It's freezing! Do you want some tea?"
"All alone you say?" Lisa asked with a grin after he kissed her. "I fancy it a great deal. How did you manage it?" Once inside, Lisa took her coat off. It had been freezing outside and she was glad to be in the warm house. Warm house was a very good thing. She didn't think she could be a naughty elf in a cold house. "I'd love some tea. It's right up there with spending time with you. You've got yourself a rival, Michael Corner."
"How did I manage?" He repeated. "Honestly. I'm the great Michael Corner, love." He winked before he hid a small package. "No peeking! I'll be right back."
Lisa shook her head, but she was grinning. "I know you're great." Lisa rolled her eyes before covering them. "How long can I not peek? And you had better be right back."
"What? Are you afraid I'll leave you there holding your face like a moron?" Michael's tone was light as he fiddled around the kitchen. "Okay, Lisa! Open them!" Grinning, he stood next to the table he had decorated impressively.
"No. I couldn't possibly look like a moron." Glad to hear that she could open her eyes, she grinned. "That is impressive. I never knew you had a knack for decorating so well."
"Oh, I pay attention when women start droning on," Michael assured her. "Now, are you going to stand there all night or join me for dinner?"
"Do I have to join you for dinner? Is that my only other option as opposed to standing?" Lisa teased as she sat at the table.
Michael's lips jutted out in a perfect pout. "No, you could go spend Christmas in that cold flat..."
"My flat is not cold!" Lisa said. "You know you'd rather be with me than by yourself."
"I only want to share my holiday with those who want to be my side!" Michael chuckled as he unearthed the turkey. "What do you think?"
"I certainly want to be by your side." Lisa grinned. "Oh wow. Do that all by yourself? That looks amazing, Michael."
"Yep, I know how to order, don't I?" His grin was mixture of sheepish and coolness that only Michael could pull off.
"Well, here's my plate. I'd like to have some of this turkey." Lisa said, holding out her plate.
Michael took the plate and piled it high with turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry. "Enjoy," he said. Christmas felt extra special with a girlfriend to spend it with.
"I will!" The food looked and smelled delicious and she was with her boyfriend. She was glad to be spending time with Michael over Christmas. "This is all really good."
"Eat up. Other things await." Michael dug into his food with relish though as much as he liked the taste, he really couldn't wait to get it done and onto the rest of the evening.
"I plan to." Lisa told him as she ate some more. She wondered what he had planned and wanted to finish with dinner and get on to it. "How is your Christmas? Get everything you wanted?"
"You are here," he reminded her.
"Besides that. Being here is at the top of my list."
"Dad got me some cool things, yeah. What about you? All your dreams come true, Miss Lisa?" Michael shoveled some stuffing into his mouth.
"Got some books. And some other things. Yeah, I think almost all of my dreams came true," she answered in between bites.
"Almost all?" Michael looked concerned. "What else is there?"
"I don't know what you've got planned. I mean, I do have being with you right now as a dream coming true, but whatever else we do isn't on that list yet." Lisa told him. "Don't worry."
Michael finished off his dinner with zest before giving her another smirk. "Oh, I'll make every dream you didn't know you had come true."
"Oh? What have you got planned, Michael Corner?" Lisa asked.
"You'll have to eat everything on your plate to find out," he teased.
Lisa finished everything on her plate. "There. Done."
"Noooooo."
"But I am!" Lisa pouted.
"Not quite!" Michael jumped up and disappeared into the kitchen. "Get ready!" He reappeared with a large cake plate. He did a great flourish of removing the cover. "What do you think?" He asked of the cheescake topped with cherries.
"I think it looks delicious," Lisa told him. "I'd like a little slice because I don't think I have room for more than that. Plus, I want to know what you've got planned. Then perhaps later, I'll have some more."
"Well, I suppose you'll work up an appetite..." He cut the slice though his version of "small" might not have been anyone else's.
"Oh really?" Lisa laughed. "You call that small?"
Michael took his own slice and sat down again. "You bet!" He patted his stomach. "It's Christmas. Nothing should be small anyway!"
"But if I'm feeling completely full, I'm not going to want to do much else other than sleep." Lisa told him as she ate her cheesecake. "Besides, I've got a figure to maintain."
"Please, you never gain," Michael answered though he did think twice when she said all she'd want to do it nap.
"That's because I work hard to make sure I don't."
"That's what wrong with your birds. You don't enjoy the food." As if to illustrated, Michael cut himself a second piece of cake.
"Hey, I enjoy food! I love cooking. Love it more when I cook for you sometimes." Lisa informed him as she finished her cheesecake. "And I love eating."
"And do I love when you cook for me." He polished off the last of his dessert and patted his stomach. "Though I do win at take-out, you must admit."
"I do admit that you win at take-out. Far superior to me in those regards. Finished?" Lisa asked.
"Finished? Oh, quite done." He pushed the dish aside and went around to kiss her. "If you don't mind letting the dishes sit here, I can give you your present now."
Lisa kissed him back. "I don't mind at all."
Looking very much like the little boy he once was, Michael grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the couch before presenting her with the small, wrapped gift he had hidden when she first arrived. "Open, open!"
"Alright, alright. I'll open it." Lisa couldn't help laughing at him. He was like a little boy and it was adorable. It took less than a minute to rip the paper off the little box. "Thank you, Michael."
"Do you like it? My step-sister said you would, but, I swear, sometimes she just wants to make me look bad."
"Your step-sister isn't trying to make you look bad. I love it." Lisa smiled before leaning towards him for a kiss.
He pulled back on hearing the word "love," before he realized she said "it" after and not "you." Realizing his mistake, he tried to cover it up and pushed his face forward.
"So, how much say did you have in picking this out?" Lisa asked. She didn't notice his reaction when she had been describing the necklace. "Or was it all your step-sister?"
Hoping her question meant she hadn't realized, Michael quickly put a hand over his heart. "That hurts, Lisa. Right here, that hurts."
"Hey, I was going to say that you had excellent taste either way." Lisa told him.
Michael stretched his arms over the sofa pillows. "Well, I would say so given I chose someone as my girl..."
"You wouldn't know what to do without me. Admit it." Lisa teased.
"Admit it? No way!"
Lisa kissed him. "Are you sure?" She kissed him again. "You'd miss this."
"Hmmm, maybe a little." He held up his pinched fingers as he "fought" off her affection. "See? That much."
She frowned at him. "Fine. No more for you." She stood up and went over to where she had left her coat and purse. "And I suppose, you won't get to see the naughty elf either."
Michael pretended to fall over in his haste to get to her. "Naughty Elf? Oh, come on! You can't taunt me, Lisa!"
"Then you should admit it." Lisa grinned.
"Fine, fine, I admit it!"
Lisa came back over to him and kissed him. "I'll be right back. No more taunting."
"I'll be the best boy," Michael swore, holding his "scout's honor" fingers up.
She was only gone a couple of minutes to change and then she was back. "What do you think? Do you like the ears?" She had found a hat that "elf" ears and couldn't resist not wearing it too.
"Strangely? I do." To illustrate that point, he kissed both fake ones. "Should I show you the really special present in my bedroom then?"
