WHO: Michael Corner & Lisa Turpin WHAT: Making up WHEN: After this exchange WHERE: Lisa's flat RATING: PG STATUS: DONE!
Michael didn't know why he had gotten so irked on Colin's journal, but he had felt ambushed despite knowing others probably held a point. Michael just hated being wrong and being called out by his girlfriend stung. Nonetheless, he missed her and wanted to see her so when Lisa extended another invitation, Michael didn't make up another excuse about his step-sister. Instead, he put on his best cologne and headed over to her flat. He just hoped Mandy wasn't there since he didn't want to make her any more uncomfortable.
He really missed his Manders. It wasn't the same and he didn't understand why. He was dating Lisa, but so what? Why did his friendship with Mandy have to suffer? On top of Fred's coma, it was a huge blow. And for that, Michael was even more grateful to have Lisa in his life. She was steady and constant and she cared about him. Michael was in heaven when he was with her so he got over his little wounded ego and knocked at the door before hiding behind the huge bouquet of wild flowers he had stopped to purchase.
Lisa wasn't mad at Michael, but she didn't know which part of what she said had changed his mind. It hurt that one minute she was going to see him and the next he was doing something with his step-sister. She thought his step-sister was in school. At the time, Lisa thought Michael was mad at her so didn't press the issue if he really was doing something with her. Today, she decided to find out if Michael was mad at her and he said he wasn't. That made her feel better inside. And knowing that, Lisa was able to ask him over. She really did want to see him.
As soon as she heard the knock on the door, Lisa was there in a moment to open it. "Hi, Michael," she said with a smile and stepping back to let him in.
Michael poked his head out from behind the flowers. "Do you like, my lady?" He asked with an exaggerated flourish of the flowers.
"I love. Thank you." Lisa took the flowers from him and headed for the kitchen to get something to put them in. As she took a whiff of the flowers, Lisa decided that she wanted to keep them in her room. For now, though, they would stay in here. "You didn't have to get me flowers."
Yet Michael felt like he did. It seemed like a fight and Michael hated that. Conflict wasn't his thing no matter how many times he could run his mouth and land himself in boiling hot water. "I wanted to," he said rather than divulge his feelings. "I mean I need to keep my beautiful bird happy." He wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her close. "We are alone, yeah?"
"They are quite lovely. Really thank you." Lisa had a feeling about the real reason she got the flowers. However, she didn't want to bring up the whole journal business again. Might as well get over it now. "Yeah," she told him as she gave him a kiss. "All alone."
"Good." He pulled away. "We can play chess then, yes?" He smirked as he plopped down on her couch.
"I don't know if we've got chess." No, she didn't think they did. Lisa hadn't brought one with her and she didn't think Mandy did. "Think you'll have to pick something else."
"No chess? Hmmmm. Perhaps we ought to discuss brilliant literature then?" Michael leaned over, landing his chin in his hands. "Or consider how to create the world's largest meatball?" His teasing suddenly turned serious as he shot straight back against the couch. "Those crazy muggles would go BONKERS! We'd just have to charm the thing and it would..." He threw his arms up and around to indicate the meatball would be enormous.
Lisa shook her head at the discussing literature suggestion. As much as she loved books and talking about them, she wanted to talk or do something that was a lot more fun. "A meatball? Is that going to be Michael Corner's greatest achievement of all time?" Lisa asked, trying to be serious yet failing terribly at keeping a straight face and not attempting to laugh. "We should start at your place. This is a bit too small for such an undertaking. And other than charming it together, are you going to charm it to stay fresh for all eternity or would you eat it as soon as you could?"
"Eat it? Do you know how much gold we could get?" Michael reached out to grab her hand and pull her into his lap. "Well muggle money and turn it into gold...and we'd be famous!" He cocked his head thoughtfully. "Well, in the muggle world at least!"
"I can't imagine. Though, you can be the famous one." Lisa told him. "Are we really going to talk about this all night?"
"Yes! I mean a HUGE meatball, Lisa! Huge!" Michael's face lit with excitement just like it had when he was a kid thinking up some nonsensical thing.
Lisa shook her head as she smiled. He was just too cute, like a little kid. "Michael, you are cute." She leaned in and kissed him. Maybe that would distract him long to get off the topic.
When he was younger, nothing could distract Michael from his wild ideas, but older Michael immediately forgot about meatballs as he kissed his girlfriend back. However, as he finished the kiss, his mind wandered to Lisa and he snogging on top of the massive dinner food.
"What would you rather do?" Lisa asked after the kiss. "Snog or talk about food?"
"Snog and then eat?" Michael suggested. He stretched out his legs, letting them fall over the coffee table. "Or you could feed me!"
"Maybe after snogging," Lisa said as she poked Michael's stomach. "I remember that the way to your heart is through your stomach. But shouldn't snogging be enough for now?"
Michael pouted, feigning great indignation. "Do you only want me for this gorgeous body, love?"
"That. And your humor." Lisa said before kissing him. "And your mind." Lisa kissed him again. "Why else should I want you? Isn't that enough?"
How could he concentrate when she did that? "Hmmm?" He cuddled her near him, allowing her lips to fall over his. "When you put it that way, how can I say no?"
Lisa smirked. "Of course you shouldn't say no. How can you ever say no to me?"
"Like this? N-O," He spelled. He jumped up and his face. "Seeeee?"
"Michael. That isn't very nice. You shouldn't spell no to me." Lisa pouted and then stuck her tongue out at him.
Looking smug, Michael stuck his right back at her. "That's what you get for saying I can't!"
"I wouldn't be so mean to you." Lisa told him. "So snogging?"
"I spelled no!" Michael laughed and held up a pillow to fend her off before darting toward the kitchen.
"I know you spelled it!" Lisa grabbed the pillow from him. "Hey! What are you doing?" She put the pillow down and went to the kitchen. "If I get food in your stomach, will you do whatever I want?"
Michael opened the fridge to examine its contents. "That seems like a rather steep deal now."
"What would be an ideal deal then?" Lisa asked.
"Ideal deal?" Michael's mouth twisted on the words. "How did you manage to say that with a straight face? It is like that muggle phrase...Sally sells seashells...how does the rest go?"
"I don't know how I managed that. Now answer the question, Michael. Please?"
Michael crossed back over to her. "Aw, are you pouting, Lisa? I think I like you needing me so much!" He encircled her waist with his arms. "Hmmm. This better?"
Lisa nodded her head. "I do need you. This is better." And this was much better than their little "fight" over Colin's journal.
"You know, you can't always pout and have me puddy in your hands." Yet, even as he said it, Michael knew she had him with that look.
"I know. I don't always plan to pout to get my way with you." Lisa teased. "You've probably have a look of your own that will do the same to me."
"I think it is my ripping bicepts rather than a look," Michael retorted, flexing for her. "Huh? Huh?"
Lisa giggled. "They are amazing. And they make me feel so safe when you hold me," she said in a more serious tone.
Michael caught the more serious part of her statement which made him both happy and nervous. He really, really didn't want to disappoint her, but he didn't have much practice in being a perfect boyfriend. "Then they'll just have to do more of..." He hugged her tightly. "This."
