While Andrew had taken almost all of his other duties as Head Boy seriously, none had made the impact on him that preparing the Katie Bell Memorial had. He'd thrown himself into it head first, seeking permission from the Headmistress, talking with as many of the students as he could about what they'd like to see, and working to set up the Great Hall as soon as lunch had ended that Tuesday. As much help as he'd gotten, he couldn't help feeling like this was his special project. Katie had been a Gryffindor, after all, and hadn't laughed at him (at least, not to his face) when he'd turned out to be one of the worst Beaters to try out for the team.
Now, sitting near the front of the room, he'd listened quietly as several of the staff members and a couple of students shared their memories of the fallen Chaser. He tried not to look too depressed. It was a day to celebrate the life Katie had lived, not mourn what they had all lost...right? He exchanged looks with the students on either side of him and fidgeted in his seat slightly, but he was remarkably still for a man who almost never was. Losing someone so close to their own age had definitely made an impact on many of them, and was a major step on the path to growing up.
As the more official proceedings began to break up and the students began wandering the Great Hall looking at the pictures Colin had on display, Andrew leaned back with a sigh, watching everything unfold. It seemed sad that it was all they could do to honour someone so nice. But what else could they do? People their age weren't supposed to die. They just weren't.
