Who: Tonks and Draco When: Eveningtime. Dinner! What: Tonks had invited Draco over for dinner. That she wasn't going to make. Where: Tonks' flat Status: Incomplete
Tonks was still trying to figure her cousin out sometimes. And, sometimes, figuring out how to fit yourself into someone's life meant that you tripped up. Tonks tripped up earlier, with a joke that went wrong, but she was learning. And hopefully Draco would grade on a curve, so to speak.
A quick sprucing up of her flat meant that things weren't too messy at all, actually. And she was very proud of the fact that it didn't look like a hurricane anymore. So long as no one went into her wardrobe. If they did, she'd have to feign ignorance. Or maybe give a hard hat first.
But anyway! She paced for a few minutes, hoping that Draco meant it when he said that he'd come over. This was for a variety of reasons. The first was that she enjoyed spending time with him, naturally. And the second was that, if Tonks couldn't weasel out the research that Draco wanted to do, then she could at least help him by coming up with a brilliant cover for his leave.
His leave. She snorted then, thinking about it. The Ministry and their rules were decidedly not what she fought for. Decidedly not what she lost friends and family for. It, and Kevin Brocklehurst, irritated the woman just thinking about it. So, rather than rile herself up, she scooped up Edgar and cuddled him while waiting. "Yeah, you'll be getting a friend soon. Promise!"
