colin & scott
WHO: Colin Creevey & Scott Summers WHAT: Colin has a photography project! WHEN: Saturday afternoon WHERE: Hogwarts grounds RATING: PG STATUS: Done
Colin rolled his eyes, but he was still wearing his bright smile as he plopped down next to Scott and peered over his shoulder. Like most boys, Colin enjoyed a good comic too. Of course, not nearly as much as photography, but he "forgave" Scott for messing up his shot. "I was trying to get a decent shot of you for the school diary." He shrugged. "Next time I guess."
"Oh," Scott said. "What's this about a school diary?" He hadn't heard of it, unless he had missed something about it. That happened from time to time, but Scott didn't care most of the time. "Yeah, next time might be better. Like when my nose isn't stuck in a comic.... On second thought, that might be the best shot of me that you could get."
Colin beamed proudly. "That was why I was trying to get it! I like to capture everyone in their normal moments. It looks more natural." He pulled out some of the grass blades, letting them fall through his fingers. "A school diary. I haven't announced it yet. I don't want everyone running around posing; that defeats the purpose!"
"Well, you had better get a picture of me before Halloween. That's when I'm supposed to hand them over to Jean," Scott grinned. "Sounds like an interesting idea. Ha. I think you had better get pictures of the girls before you announce it. They love to pose in front of the camera as far as I know."
Colin held a finger to his lips. "Shh. We don't want a mob of angry girls throwing books at us!"
Scott held in a snicker. "I do not want an angry mob of girls to throw a book at me."
"Then don't insult them, mate! Didn't Jean tell you anything?" He smirked, reaching over to ruffle the younger boy's hair.
"Hey!" Scott said, moving away from Colin after he had ruffled his hair. "I am under the impression that Jean is not really a girl."
Colin buried his face in his hand. "Oy! I pity you if she hears you saying that." He sighed and peeked through his fingers. "It was nice knowing you, Scott."
Scott laughed. "Actually, she has heard it before. She smacks me with the comic book I had just given her every time. But, it was nice knowing you too, Colin, if she changes her tactics."
Straightening back up, Colin snickered. "Now I'm starting to believe those stories she tells about you..."
He stopped laughing. "What stories?" His sister was telling stories about him? That was unacceptable, even if he did it himself.
"Now, you know I can't tell you that, Scotty!" Colin shoved his friend's shoulder.
"No, I don't know. Come on, Cols, tell me what she's saying! It might get -" To Braelyn, he finished in his head. Especially if they were horror stories about when they were little. Scott didn't want her to find out. He had to know what Jean was saying. "Please!" Scott begged.
Colin looked at Scott oddly. He actually seemed desperate. "Come on, mate, you know it's the job of big brothers and sisters to take the mickey. It's nothing serious." He propped his chin in his hand. "Who are you afraid of knowing your deep dark secrets? Not that Jean would ever do something like that anyway."
"I can't tell you that," Scott said. No one knew that he liked Brae, not even Brae. Well, she knew that he liked her, but not in the way he really liked her. "If I did something truly awful to her, I'm sure Jean would do something like that."
"Which leads to the question...would you do anything truly awful?" Colin didn't know what to make of Scott's reaction. All siblings made fun of each other; it wasn't anything to get worked up over. Right? Or was Scott not telling him something?
Scott thought for a moment and shook his head. "No, I wouldn't. As it is, I get along better with her than our brother. And I am a prefect."
"So that makes you perfect?" Colin biffed Scott in the back of his head. "Oy, you! You can have your secrets for now." He picked up his camera again. "Try to act natural!"
"No, it makes me responsible. Hey!" Scott was really wishing he had Cyclops' powers right about now. "Oh, I can't have them in the future? Okay, let me grab my comic book." Scott pulled the comic book from his bag and opened it up to where he was reading. He couldn't get anymore natural than that.
"No one has secrets forever," Colin commented. "Never works out that way." He aimed his camera. "Okay, just forget I'm here..." He started circling the spot where Scott sat.
"Well, I plan on keeping this secret for some time." Scott waved him off. "Yeah, I'll forget you're here."
