This was what life had basically become for Parvati Patil. Not really doing anything, but either lounging at home, going to parties with friends or walking around in shopping areas. Sure anyone else would think that must be a blast, but it was really not enough. And she couldn't help mentally curse at herself because somehow this was probably her own fault. Had she taken a few more classes or N.E.W.T.s in Hogwarts (the Potions N.E.W.T.s in her final year, especially), she would have had a bit more options open for her.
Nope, that wasn't what was happening.
She searched through the town, having done her shopping for the day... which really, wasn't a lot. She might have loved it, but wasn't one for binge-spending, contrary to popular belief. Mostly Parvati was stopping by several stores, looking out for help-wanted signs. Though what good did that do? Most of them she saw, she hesitated to enter, not so sure if being a salesclerk was something she wanted to do. No offense to a certain guy she knew was doing exactly that.
Parvati came to Madam Malkin's shop and looked through the window pensively. There was a sign here as well, but that was where she finally decided to stop and weigh out her options on applying. It wouldn't hurt, would it? She was far too deep into her thoughts to realize that someone was approaching her from the side.
