Who: Open to Anyone and everyone!
Where: The Nott Manor's grounds
What: It's party time!
When: The day of the party (silly back-dating)

Neville wasn't exactly uncomfortable with going over to the Nott manor. It really was nice of Theodore to ask, even if Neville had a feeling he was only being invited along as a sort of buffer for Ernie and Theodore's very mucked up friendship. But the place was nearly as big and intimidating as the Malfoy Manor, and he didn't know Theodore that well, really.

So he was more than glad when Ernie had suggested going over there together. He was grateful to have someone familiar by his side as he stepped through the floo. And, when Teddy ushered them outside to 'show them the grounds', Neville began to feel even more at ease. How could he not, Theodore was already acknowledging Neville's curiousity where Mrs. Nott's garden was concerned.

But when he stepped through the double doors and on to the back lawn, he knew this was no ordinary invitation. Mostly because all of his friends, including some who weren't likely to socialise with Theodore on their own, were there. Gathered in the backyard, all looking excited and pleased with themselves. Including his Ginny, standing in the middle of it all with an innocent smile on her face. Neville looked back and forth between her, Ernie, and Theodore, his mouth open slightly. "What... Erm, exactly what is this?"

But the words were barely out of his mouth when everyone gathered in the yard shouted, "SURPRISE!"

Ginny had spent most of the night before and that morning getting things together for the party. She wanted everything to be perfect and that usually meant proper planning. She and everyone who'd been good enough to come early to set up had spent quite a bit of time setting up the Notts' garden area to make it into a jungle paradise. It had been a bit tedious, made a bit more so by the fact she was among the minority who couldn't yet do magic outside of school (Less than two weeks!). The garden itself looked rather brilliant if she did say so herself, and the papercuts she'd sustained all seemed worth it just by the look on Neville's face when he realized just what was going on.

Breaking away from the crowd of friends, Ginny made her way over to her boyfriend and gave him a quick peck on the cheek, trying to keep her innocent smile.

"Happy Birthday, Nev." She said sweetly.

Hermione had come early as promised to help out. It had been busy, but it was the sort of busy-work she really enjoyed. She knew how excited Ginny was about this surprise party for Neville and the red-haired girl had really outdone herself. It was very kind of Teddy as well to offer his home for the party to be held. She was proud of the work that all of her friends had done in order to properly celebrate another one of her best ones.

She was all smiles and laughter along with all of the other guests when Neville arrived onto the grounds, ushered by devious childhood friends Teddy and Ernie. He truly looked surprised which was a relief. It had been meant to stay that way and if he would have keyed onto it sooner, the look on his face wouldn't have been quite the same, Hermione was sure. But it seemed everything went off without a hitch.

She waited until he and Ginny exchanged loving gestures before enveloping her friend in a hug. "Happy birthday, Nev," she whispered. "You deserve the best."

Megan had arrived at the Nott residence early with Susan and two boxes worth of shrunken plants. She didn't realize how many plants she actually had until that very moment. Why did she have to bring so many? Oh yes, it was Neville's surprise birthday and Megan had said she would bring a bunch of plants to add to the ones already there.

Of course, as a present, Neville would be getting yet another plant. There were never too many plants among those who loved plants. She couldn't wait to give it to him. When they finished setting up, Megan was pleased with the result. The addition to the Notts' garden was very beautiful and made Megan wish she had a garden like this, even though she wanted a greenhouse first.

Then the guest of honor arrived and everyone had shouted surprised. Neville sure looked surprised to Megan. She hoped that he'd appreciate the party that his girlfriend had thrown him. Not too long afterwards, when Neville was free of other people, Megan went over to him.

"Happy birthday, Neville!" She said excitedly, giving him a hug in the process. "What do you think?"

Susan had been wondering why the boxes were so heavy, but now, with the entire garden decorated, it wasn't hard to see why. To be honest, they might have been a bit too enthusiastic in their search for plants, as the garden looked just a bit cramped despite its large size. The result was beautiful though, and Susan was very pleased with their work.

She was even more pleased, however, to see all of her friends and classmates again, and Susan had spent the first half hour walking around and exchanging pleasantries with everyone she knew. She had been lonelier than she had realised, back in Brighton with no one around to talk to apart from her family. Sipping contently from her glass, Susan made her way through the grounds, admiring the greenery before she spotted Neville and Megan standing not too far from her.

"Hi, Neville," said Susan, coming up beside Megan. "Congratulations!" Giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, she leaned back and gave Megan a smile. "We did well, don't you think?"

	Ernie grinned as the girls rushed over to Neville. He was still pretty worried that the boy would hate the idea of a surprise party where all eyes were on him, but...well, Neville deserved some celebrating. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Megan smiled back at Susan. "I think we did really well." To her, all the hard work paid off. The garden looked amazing and Megan somewhat wanted it for her own. Not the party part, but the garden with all the plants overflowing. "I'm glad that Ginny did this for him. He deserves it. Plus, it gives me an idea to have a garden party for my birthday next year."

She spotted Ernie and waved at him, wanting him to come over. She didn't want to shout asking for his opinion.

Waiting for Ernie to come over, Susan took another nip from her drink. Now all they needed was Hannah, and it would be just like the good old days. It was an odd feeling, not having to return to Hogwarts when the summer would be over. Susan had to admit she was quite anxious about what was to come, but she was sure they would all find a place where they would fit right in.

"I'd love to have one of those tea parties sometime with all sorts of tiny cakes and sandwiches," Susan said a bit dreamily. Maybe it was the sweet smell of those exotic flowers everywhere around them, but she felt better than she had done in weeks. "They are good for each other, though," she added after a brief silence, referring to Neville and Ginny.

	"I like the sound of that. It is actually making me hungry just to think about it," Megan told Susan. Megan was beginning to wonder where Hannah was. She hadn't seen the girl at all. "No, I haven't." Susan frowned at the question. She hadn't heard from Hannah in a while, and that was nothing like her. Of course, Hannah was busy planning her trip at the moment, but Susan could have sworn she was coming to Neville's party. "Maybe she's around here somewhere, but we've just missed her? We could have a bit of a walk in a minute to see if we can find her and grab something to eat while we're at it." Susan was beginning to get hungry herself, and someone had passed them with a plate of snacks not too long ago.

Mandy was thrilled for the party. Of course the main reason was to celebrate Neville's birthday. Mostly because she could actually go somewhere and have fun, be with her friends and not feel guilty about lying to her father. In fact, Mandy didn't even tell her father where she'd be this afternoon, nor did she feel like she had to. After all, she was living on her own with Lisa now. Surely the rules of living at home didn't apply anymore.

"Happy birthday, Neville!" Mandy shouted along with the other guests. Her grin spreading across her face. Leaving his birthday present on the table, she'd remind herself to give it to him later, once he gets around to saying hi to everyone.
