STATUS: Started in gdocs, but still pending.
RATING: PG

It had been a long day for Mandy. Practice wasn't going as well as she had hoped. At least this time she was able to fly and practice a lot longer than an half an hour. Mandy, it seemed had just left Hogwarts and she was already frustrated with life. Of course, it had been that way for a while now. Not that she would openly admit to everyone that this silent fight with her father was really putting her into major stress mode. Don't think about it now. A voice said inside Mandy's head. The girl had just left practice and instead of going straight home, she decided to head to Diagon Alley first, her previous gloves were starting to tear and she really needed new ones. Thanks to some of her own saved money and some from her mother, she went to the Quidditch Supplies shop. It didn't take very long for her to buy her new gloves, but she did make a habit out of browsing around longer than she needed to, even though not much had changed within the shop the last time she was there. After paying the wizard, Mandy gathered her things and headed for the door. A familiar face caught her eye. A small smile grew, it was Teddy Nott. Guilt shot through her body once again. Mandy hadn't seen Teddy since their last day of school. If it wasn't for her father, she would have seen him at his graduation party, along with Draco. While they both claimed they weren't angry with her, Mandy couldn't help but feel guilty. Everyone knew what Mandy's father thought of the Death Eaters, even their families. The guilt of it all, almost made Mandy try to sneak by him but perhaps he wouldn't judge her based off her father. After all, he wouldn't want people judging him based of his father, even if some do.

"Teddy!" Mandy said cheerfully as she pushed past a few people. "Excuse me," she replied politely as she came to Teddy's side. "Hey."

Teddy didn't have much to do until he left for Greece so he spent most of his days wandering around or at the Malfoys. But, honestly, Malfoy Manor held the same dark reminder of his father that his own home did so it wasn't as comforting as it might have been. Still, if Teddy loafed in his room all day, his mother would worry and Teddy couldn't have that. So, he ventured out despite the dirty looks and demands to see his badge. It felt like a damn scarlet letter and Teddy's usually calm exterior often melted as he whipped out the proof that he was allowed out. When he heard someone besides him, he held back a groan, thinking it was just some reporter or another law official. So when he saw Mandy, his annoyed look gave way to a smile. While they hadn't known each other long, they had spent time talking over the journals and he did consider her a decent friend. "Mandy, hi, how are you?" He kissed her cheek, as proper in his circles.

"I'm doing fine, how are you?" Mandy replied. "How was Greece was it amazing? Did you have a good time?" Mandy was actually rather envious of Teddy, she had never been to Greece before, hell the only other place Mandy had vacationed to was Ireland and that didn't count considering it was considered as the UK along with England and Scotland. Looking over her shoulder, she moved slightly to the left in order to let a few others pass her by. Mandy did notice the Wizard at the counter eyeing them carefully. In all honesty Mandy hadn't noticed the badge until she saw the wizard looking strangely at them. Rolling her eyes she looked back over to Teddy. "Must be real annoying to have them watch you like some bomb about to explode."

Teddy definitely wasn't immune to the stares yet. His mother said he'd get used to it, but so far, he just felt uncomfortable, even more so that Mandy could notice it. "Yes, well, you might not want to be seen with me anyway. What if they tell?" He gently guided her to a more secluded section of the shop. It wasn't ideal, but he wasn't going to blow her off either. "Greece is in a few weeks. I'll spell-o-tape some photos in my journal, yeah?"

Mandy's jaw tightened slightly when Teddy mentioned someone telling on her. "I don't care if someone tells." Mandy almost wanted to say that he couldn't stop her from seeing him but that had pretty much already been proven hadn't it? The girl sighed before moving her eyes away from him. "Yeah, that'd be great," she replied with a small nod. Her arms crossed before finally looking back at him. "Listen, Teddy, I'm really sorry I didn't come see you and Draco. I mean, I wouldn't think Draco would be too upset over it, we don't know each other that well but you, I shouldn't have done that to you."

Teddy really wasn't annoyed that she hadn't been there. It would have been different if it had been someone who could have gone and didn't, but Mandy had her father to worry over and Teddy wouldn't ever ask someone to risk her relationship with a parent. "Mandy, it's alright." He chuckled some, squeezed her shoulder. "I don't want you getting in trouble on my account. I know you would have came if you could."

While, she wasn't expecting him to be too angry with her, she was a little surprised by his laugh. Somehow she felt that some of the students were starting to dislike her because of her father. Of course Mandy had no control on what her father, still, it was just one of the things that had started to worry her. "Normally, I really wouldn't care, he was just in a horrible mood that day and I really just didn't want to have to go through making him more angry." Mandy replied with a small shrug. Obviously hurt by it. "Never mind then, what brings you here anyway?"

He wished he could say he understood Mr. Brocklehurst's actions, but he didn't. However, that didn't mean Teddy was about to lose one of the few new friends he had made. He kept his hand on her shoulder, hoping his action spoke more than the words he couldn't formulate. "I was just looking around really. I don't play, but...I needed to pass time." He withdrew his hand, sticking it in his pocket. "How's your team coming?"

Mandy smiled, she did feel like he really believed her that it wasn't her fault entirely. Mandy was always a little emotional when it came to her friends, even a new friendship, like she had with Teddy.

"Oh it's fine. Had a pretty bad tear in one of my gloves, decided I should probably get a new pair. Had the other ones since I first started playing at school." It was weird, thinking about school. Could she possibly be missing it already? Only a little. "Our first match isn't for another month or so, but I'm still real excited about it. Anything new going on with you?"

Teddy nodded while she spoke, but he also wondered what if felt like to have a life like that. No, Teddy didn't want to play Quidditch, but it would have been nice to have any say in his future at all. But that wasn't Mandy's problem so he only smiled more. "Maybe we should get a cheering section together for it then?" He carefully avoided her last question. Nothing was new. Nothing at all.
