RP: Words, Words, Words Date: March 17th, Year Two Characters:Albus Severus Potter, Lily Evans Potter Location: Special Words bookshop on Lower Serpent Street Warnings: None Public/Private: Private Summary: Al runs into his grandmum while browsing for a book to read. Needless to say he's a bit surprised. Status: Incomplete
Al walked through the shelves of the bookshop, occasionally reaching out to brush the worn spines of the leather books. He was trying to keep his mind from wandering but it was a difficult task and even as he searched for a cookbook that suggested recipes that didn't spontaneously combust his thoughts were miles away. He was surprised how easy he had adjusted to the village. There were times when he wanted to scream, to shout to the invisible force keeping him here that he wasn't a prisoner, that he had a life back home and a family and yet - the village was filled with distractions. It didn't seem like a prison, and that was the crux of the matter. Everyone he spoke to seemed to have accepted the change but he... he couldn't get over it. It was in every waking thought and he new that some day, somehow he was going to have to make a stand.
Until that day came around, Al contented himself with going about everyday life. He tried to keep up with his studies, practicing a new spell every day and looking for his text books that he left back at the castle. When he wasn't practicing he was with Scor, pretending that everything was as normal as could be. It was strange, but he felt that there was something Scor wasn't telling him - a distance that hadn't been there before. It just reminded him once more that Scor was older than he was, albeit by a few months but it felt like years. It troubled him but he didn't want to mention it to his friend, not when Scor seemed to have his own moments of broodiness.
Al sighed to himself as he realized his mind had wandered and he was now in the muggle studies section of the bookstore. "Well, perhaps a non-magical cookbook would be best," Al muttered to himself as he began to scan the shelves once again for a recipe book.
