Severus chuckled at the feigned exasperation, shaking his head slightly, before he reached up to turn off the taps and leaned away to reach for a towel. Though he paused, with another smile, when Hermione actually asked him to stay. But not because he was surprised. Far from it, actually. Simply because he was touched. Even if they spent the majority of their time together -- at work, as well as their leisure time -- she still wanted him around. He would have thought she would have had quite enough of him long before now, but evidently not.
"I wouldn't dream of going home tonight," he finally answered, quietly, as he made quick work of drying the dishes. Because they'd just said 'I love you' for the first time, hadn't they? If that didn't warrant falling asleep in one another's arms, he didn't know what would. "Well, unless you wanted me to, that is," he added after a moment, once he'd finished drying the dishes. He turned and wrapped his arms around her, still holding the towel, and gave a slight shrug. "But you don't, so that's rather a moot point, isn't it?" he added with a smile, before pressing a kiss to her brow.
