Meaghan was surprised by his question. The first thought that entered her mind was that if it was a small affair then why would they want some stranger there? There had no idea who she was, and she them. There was no reason for her to interrupt their wedding day, no doubt looking better than the bride. She always attended weddings alone if she had to attend them at all. She hated wedding. She hated the idea of a woman being tied to a man or even visa versa. To her, people should be free. They should be free to roam as they please. Once you're married, you answer to someone no matter how little it is to begin with.
She frowned. "If it's small, I doubt they'd want be there," she said with a shrug. She was trying to blow it off. She was trying to think of any excuse to turn him down without actually saying the word no.
