He shouldn't be alive. He knew that much. How he even managed to Apparate, Severus wasn't sure. Though he didn't think he'd left anything behind, he was in too much pain to tell. He managed to stagger as far as the edge of Rosewood Street, before he collapsed into a hedgerow. But even that pain was negligible, by comparison. He wasn't even sure what all they'd done to him. He must have blacked out after the first few curses. Like he was doing now. Black clouds formed at the edges of his vision, and flashes of light that looked vaguely like lightening, and with a groan, Severus completely lost consciousness.
