Reflective: Be prepared Date: August 22, Year One Characters: Gellert Grindelwald Location: his place Public/Private: Private Summary: Gellert thinks about the upcoming dueling tournament. Status: Complete
The idea of a dueling tournament between the citizens had been an idea pulled out of thin air between Morgana and he. He was looking forward to watching the citizens of the village duel with each other - fairly, safely, and in a way that promised to be highly entertaining at the time. Reach round will show the weaker of the villagers and showcase the strongest person as any tournament did. Each loser, for each match, was going to be punished at some point as well.
There has been experiments with aging and the council was determined to use this tournament and its losers as a way to practice and try to hone the skill for future uses. The tournament was of course voluntary and therefore the person took the risk of being part of the bad outcome at losing. At least death wasn't the last punishment.
But he looked forward to seeing actual duels being played as duels. There would be no undercutting someone, no cheating, no using an Unforgivable to get the upper hand, but to actually just duel fairly.
