She was getting used to her new surroundings. Of course, having the familiar presence of Severus with her was helping, in spite of how strange things were between them. It was a beautiful night, the moon high in the sky and Lily was restless, so she'd decided to take a walk to find something to eat.
It was strange, but almost the moment she walked into the room, she saw that familiar head of dark hair. Sirius had practically been a fixture at the Potter house before they'd been forced into hiding and James had taken the loss of his friend very hard. Lily would never have admitted it, but she had missed him, as well. Despite the fact that he still got on her nerves, quite regularly, he did bring a sense of fun and adventure to her life.
She couldn't put her finger on what it was, but something about him didn't look good, though, and her brow furrowed. Well, she supposed she could go back to her cottage and pretend she hadn't seen him, or she could say hello.
"Hello, Sirius," she greeted him. "Want some company?"
