"Yeah," Malachi said, "Everyone dies. I'm just glad my time isn't up soon." He thought he made sense. Who wanted to die? Who wanted to die early? He knew she'd sung about it in her song, but it wasn't about death. It was more a celebration of the life the person had had and how they accepted their fate. It wasn't about going out and getting yourself killed for the sake of it. That's why it had meaning.
Looking down at the last year, he felt eager to get it over with. He already had the Death card which was probably the worse card in the whole deck, so what more than he have to be anxious over? He hadn't even really had a question to be answered. He wondered how that worked anyway when he hadn't been thinking of anything particularly. Leaning forward with a mix of interest and eagerness to finish this, he said, "I await my answer," he said with a forced smile.
