Lavender moved the candle to the center for some extra light while Malachi shuffled the cards, as the sun was starting to go down. She settled herself again, sitting cross-legged and taking in a few deep breaths before looking across at him and his little smile. He really was something else to look at and couldn't help but smile brightly in return. It wasn't her usual reaction or behavior at a reading. She always tried to take it serious by this point and concentrate.
Quickly dropping her silly smile, she pushed the cards down and across to form a spread in a line. "Now pull out five random cards, still thinking about what you might want answered. Then place them face down in front of me," she said in a soft voice.
