There was a part of Kit that was a little envious of the life that her friend led. To be able to go anywhere, pick what kind of accommodations she had, hand pick the jobs she wanted. It all sounded so...free. It wasn't enough to spoil anything between them, or really, make Kit wish she had a different life. It was more of the road not taken, not that she would ever give up her daughter or getting sober for anything, it was more just a wonder sometimes. That and it came with genuine support and interest in what her friend was doing with her life, never really failing to run out of questions or losing the want to hear stories. "I could be sleeping on a floor right now and I'd still be happy to see you." Kit said smiling brightly.
"But, I'm also glad I do not have to sleep on the floor." she let out a little bit of a giggle at that. "I think that's smart though. I think that maybe there is something about too much luxury, like it almost stops being special? Stops being a treat of sorts?" she guessed. "I'm sure which ever way the wind takes you, it'll end up being another grand adventure. And I look forward to adding another post card to the collection." In fact, Kit had been framing them and had been hanging them up in her home office as decoration.
"Always have to try, yeah?" Kit started. "It seems like the polite thing to do at least." which, wasn't shocking to anyone who knew how Kit was. Yes, she could be fiery and impulsive, but in the day to day, she was also horribly polite at times. She used to think it was to make up for being raised pretty much by all men who weren't always the polite sort. After debating for a moment and asking a few questions and ordering Kit followed Millie to the table and plucked herself down, not realizing how much she was enjoying not being on her feet for a few minutes. "Holly's great." she beamed with pride. "I even have a stack of letters she wrote you in my bag. She wanted to tell you all about the trip she took to the zoo." It was no wonder that her daughter flocked to Millie whenever she was around. Kit very much thought that Holly had a lot of strong amazing women in her life, and Millie was very much a part of that, right alongside Holly's godmum. "London...is busy as usual. Afraid I haven't gotten to take much time to enjoy it lately what with the book coming out and all." she admitted, knowing she had a copy for Millie also in her bag. She figured she'd leave it when she went to go leave. "So between, that, Holly starting at Little Wood, my band of idiot brothers and their broods, it's nice to get away for a bit." she admitted taking a long happy sip of her beverage. The look of pure satisfaction was written all over her face.
